A question for all you other old farts...in your opinion what was it that held Coach Majors back from really getting over the hump?

IMO it was because of the maddeningly frustrating thing we did under him where we always seemed to be playing down to inferior opponents level. It was like he didn't know how to be a front runner.

As mentioned - the over focus on the power run game. When he opened it up like the second half in the Miracle at South Bend as well as the Sugar Bowl, some great things happened. But it was just his nature to play old school field position football.

I eagled two holes in a row during a 4 man scramble one time. We took all of my shots. It was the best golf I have ever played in a two hole stretch.

I don’t want to know about your four man scramble and I don’t know what a two hole stretch is but it sounds disgusting.

Never will forget that trip to Notre Dame. We were tailgating with several folks pregame at this wealthy guy's motor home and his son with one of his buddies walk up. His dad introduced him as a junior attending UT majoring in business marketing I believe. His dad attended ND back in the 60's. He hands his dad a brown paper bag and says it's a gift to him from he and his buddy. He pulls this t-shirt out of the bag that has a huge Vol player sitting on the bench with his eyes rolled back in his head with that little leprechaun kneeled down in front of him giving him a bj. The caption on the shirt reads "f$&# the luck, the Irish suck! Go Vols!" Everybody in the group about pissed our pants from laughing.

Sad how far we’ve fallen but it seems they are really trying to ignite the love for Tennessee football again. I feel the beast is about to be awoken again.

Good for them. Glad we can still be a destination school for opposing college football fan bases. Hope we show them what a fully operational Neyland Stadium looks like, and send them home with a loss, but some great stories about their trip.

Are there any great videos about Neyland out there? Found one on youtube. Pretty dated and you can tell uploaded from a VCR. Lines at the top driving me nuts.
