It’s absurd how easy it is for players to leave a school now.

The turnover and attrition is really something you have to expect and manage.

I'm just surprised more people did not see this coming. It's free agency in the NFL's developmental division now. Still hammering out the the rules to the player money - but it's all pro now.

I know everyone is excited about recruiting and the upcoming holidays but i need to vent a little and ask a couple questions for the ones who may know. So after a week the investigation wrapped up, the bank finally puts the money back that was stolen out of our account only to find out the funds are frozen and my account restricted due to it being compromised. The bank needs me to send them a copy of my drivers liscense front/back, most recent utility bill proving my identification is what they have on file. After that they are gonna send me a hard copy check of the amount owed and could take up to 14 business days. I told the bank if they made it this hard for the hackers to get my money it woulda never gotten stolen. My question is this protocol for it to be so hard to get my money back and to take this long? I know its a long shot but is there any legal action that can be taken??Im the only income for my family and this has almost crippled us with my next paycheck still a week away.

Sorry for such a long post.
Go to your local branch and speak with the manager.

They will probably give you an immediate signature loan to be paid back when the funds are available.

Listening to ESPNU on the way in and Luginbill makes a good point in reference to Ewer's:

Are players coming to a team to hone their craft and skill as football players or are they going for the NIL deal?

He also makes the point that over the last 20 years the success rates for 5 stars are about 50%, and do we see this number go down now.

Jones and Payton will be gone next year but we have plenty of depth and speed at WR. I'm not concerned about losing some off the DL. Omari Thomas played more and more as the season went along, and so did the big kid from Kansas. Like you said LB will likely still be an issue next year unless we strike transfer portal gold.

Cade was out for more than one game this year and we survived. For next years schedule, Pitt will be a shadow of it's former self, Florida will be down, We will continue to be a bad match-up for Kentucky, Vandy gonna Vandy, and we will be better on the offensive side of the ball at the very least than both Missouri and SC.

Agree. Folks really need to look at the current roster and compare with the staff's great development of players in just one season. Now add another off season and fall camp. Night and day from 2020 with staff continuity maintained. There is some real SEC talent on the roster while adding guys who can really play from the portal and blending in a few incoming top freshmen.

Will J-Mitchell be coming back healthy at LB and in the rotation? Last season was not one to judge him. He was learning a new system and was injured early.

Heard that and hit home with what i think of recruits like Nolan and Evans. Piss on em!
Give me any kid that wants to play for Tennessee over a kid that will come here if he gets paid enough!!! NIL gonna ruin college football!

Nope, just one of her classmates.
She’s dating a WR.

It’s really hard to be the scary, intimidating protective Dad when my daughter has good taste and picks truly nice guys to go out with. On the other hand, maybe they are so nice because I am so scary, yeah that’s it. 🤠

Still reading them the 10 Simple Rules for Dating my Daughter?

It was highly effective with mine. Well, at least until she married a law enforcement officer.

Bowl practice observations…

For the first time since pre-season camp in August, the media had the opportunity to watch part of Tennessee’s bowl practice.

The Vols worked indoors on Monday morning in what is their third bowl practice.

The focus during the periods we were allowed to watch was on fundamentals with plenty of leverage work for both the offensive and defensive lines.

On the offensive line, Cade Mays was not practicing as he continues to deal with this ankle injury. His status for the bowl game remains a question mark. With Cade out, Dayne Davis, Jeremiah Crawford and R.J. Perry got the right tackle work. Perry needs a really good off-season in the weight room to compete for snaps next fall.

At running back, that group was healthy and full aside from Tyion Evans who quit the team. Jaylen Wright was in a non-contact jersey. Alot of the focus for that group was on vision, hitting the hole, and ball security.

Defensively, Tyler Baron was dressed and doing drills on the side as he continues to battle some nagging injuries. Baron was vocal to other defensive linemen in their drill work and was clearly engaged on the practice field.

Elijah Simmons didn’t practice as he deals with some injury stuff. Rodney Garner did have a new player on the defensive line in mid-term enrollee Jordan Phillips. Phillips has lost a good deal of weight the last few months.

Amari McNeil is another guys who has trimmed down.

For the defensive backs, linebackers and safeties it was just fundamental work with tackling and angles.

Without the pain of pruitt, we would not have the Hope of Heupel. We’re in a better place now. Sometimes an awful experience can be a blessing in disguise.

Just imagine if we had hired an OC Heupel 4 years ago instead of a DC in pruitt. The entire football world would have thought that we were crazy.

We would have never dealt with #2. Those NFL WR would have been All Americans. Think of all the players thst went elsewhere. Cade Mays would have never been a dawg. The potential differences are endless. But we didn’t, so here we are.

I have a feeling that Heupel could've actually gotten above avg results from Guarantano. If he was the only hope @ QB, I think Heupel could've reigned him in a little and schemed to help cover his deficiencies. It's a good feeling to actually believe our coach can do this.

When it comes to your daughter, there are no nice guys.

I don't think we can stress enough that we don't have enough data and experience yet to show what this will do to locker rooms. I'll guarantee right now that the culture at Texas and Texas A&M will be as toxic as we see anywhere and within 3-4 years I'd say there's a 66-75% chance both teams have new coaches due to low ROIs on these NILs.

I had a convo with a guy who’s a sports management prof. He told me that Ewers picked Ohio State purely because the structure of the state laws in Ohio let him get paid as a 17 year old. He went to Ohio State, got paid, and is now transferring to Texas now that he’s 18.
