One thing I have to say to the TN recruits who didn’t want to rep their flagship state university:

Not trying to be rude, but less than half of your list experienced a HC change.

Is there potential in the portal? Absolutely, but lots of unproven commodities which to me defeats the purpose when UT needs turnkey solutions at LB. Otherwise, I’m hopeful we sign a better slate of high school kids to develop in the next class.

Eason looked pretty good early in year at SDE. Was he injured later in year? Don’t recall seeing him play much.

There are no turnkey options at the HS level, even Bama took a transfer ILB and started him as did Michigan State.

We return a lot of experience at ILB from last year and I’ve more faith in returning starters than HS kids. But with how many are in the portal right now I am fine with adding depth there.

Ain't no f******cking way I would be on board with someone here entering the transfer portal and then using our bowl game as an audition for his next school. Nope.

Odd for sure. Gators been recruiting transfer QBs is probably why and he doesn’t want to leave his teammates hanging. Jones a good dude.

Wow. Sounds like he’s really excited about our QB.

I'm impressed with our class. . . after watching our coaches present the class, I may be even more impressed with them. They say that players take on the personality of their coaches. If that's true, they are gonna be great people to have in Knoxville over their years here and in their communities after they graduate too.

Heupel with interesting comments about instate recruiting being harder this year due to them hearing all the noise from before they got here. Unfortunately it’s sad he has so many obstacles to fight in his own state than he does elsewhere. Film don’t lie but mouth and $ can. Hopefully it gets to the point where he can shut some of those mouths up

1. He's staying home, and the backup gets his chance to shine. Full stop.
2. I would poll the team what they think.

I'm sure you guys will have a field day with this, but......
I'm still bummed no instant impact guy at ILB. CB we did fine. The D line added some good pieces, Charles will start next year and hopefully someone takes Flowers spot. But we are still at Banks and Beasley being the inside backers starters.

And…. You felt like a true freshman was going to change that?…. The portal is now the place for your weaknesses IMO because you need game ready players. Not to say some freshman will not be but generally they are not…

So sick of hearing about Tennessee recruits. Hope they are second guessing themselves. We do not have to get players from within the borders. Really hope our two RBs get more yards than the other two.
