Difference of style over substance. Let's see if Heup understands that difference going forward.
3 QB TO's, 13 penalties, undisciplined play on both sides of the ball. O-line injuries and in disarray. Losing the turnover battle like that never helps your chances. But add all those mind numbing penalties to it and you get a L.
That 4th and a foot play call will hopefully go down as the worst in Heup's history. I hope never to see that again. Call that last TO and get you and your QB on the same page.
They needed stunts to get to the QB. Not getting off blocks (holds). Hopefully, Young can help with that.
And then there are people, including Heup, who say HB is deservedly third on the depth chart. If he doesn't play, how do we know that's true? Oh, that right, if he doesn't play we will never know if it is true or not. So we are supposed to trust without verification. Again. Uh, how's that worked out over the past decade?
There were positives to take out of this. Special teams were special. The team was not smart, but played hard for 60 minutes. A few guys showed up and were strong. If Theo Jackson keeps playing like that he is going to get paid well. The O scheme is good. Injuries are making the team look worse because of the lack of depth. Need to get healthy. They lost to a solid, well coached team with a future NFL QB. So it was not like losing to GA State.
Swallow the bitter pill and get to work. Especially relating to the gray matter between the ears.
