Yup if you can somehow convince Mays to come back, i would use every transfer i can on all sections of the D.

Offense should be fine. OL will be basically back plus Mincy. RBs are the same as what we did for 2/3s of the year plus the two frosh. RB is also one of the easier positions to come in and help a la Wright. All TEs are back and one more year in. We lose Jones and Payton at WR but hopefully someone in that Keyton, Calloway, Merrill, and Hyatt group progresses like they should to play opposite Tillman.

Defense is a different story. DT I feel quasi ok about, but I'll take every DE, LB, CB, and S that has decent stats at the collegiate level. They're simply or there too much. Need more bodies.

Wait till
I am coming around to this line of thinking. I am hopeful another year in the system will help some. Need some more dudes. Need a more aggressive scheme. Not at all out on Banks yet.

Wait till they get their guys then judge them. This defense is soooooo void of talent. Rodney G is a great coach yet we couldn’t get pressure with our front 4. It’s because he only has so much talent. We did better than I thought considering that.

I assumed he was gone since he didn't play.
Or he's still healing.

I'd lean toward him being gone, but I'm hoping to be wrong. Supposedly some of his teammates are trying to coax him into coming back. I hope they're successful.

Odds are always in your favor.

So what your saying is I'm really in a no win situation. If I go against the grain and he's fired or moves on, the it was an easy call and I wasn't really going out on a limb, however if he does improve the defense and sticks around then I was just wrong.

Many coaches last more than a couple of years. I don't think he'll make it beyond next season. It may be of his own choosing, though. May realize he's not cut out for this DC job. If he does make it, he'll have to really expand his repertoire.

I thought Bumphus was eligible to return and had said he was. I could be mistaken.

Agree? Disagree?

I think nothing has changed. You still have players that are anytime, anywhere, and you had ones that didn't really care back then. I hear fans mention the playoffs more than players. Players still wanna play. Fans have redefined things into 'he's there for a championship' but that's a fan attitude. These guys aren't stupid. Most of them know they have no pro prospects and this is a time in their lives that they won't get back. Sure they wanna win but they wanna live it to the fullest too and that means going all out on everything. The ones that opt out have their reasons but those guys existed back then too - the difference is we didn't hear about it every time a 20 something scratched his behind.

Like SC, KY record is smoke and mirrors.

I mean, is it? Ten wins is ten wins. They beat Florida for the second time in 4 years. They beat LSU. They beat the #15 team in the country today.

IDK maybe smoke and mirrors but damn I’d kill for a smoke and mirrors ten win season.

I hope he is actually good next year if he stays. Hopefully Beasley can return to a reserve role and Hannah can provide some depth as well. We really need Willis to be a dude. Banks and Willis as starters would be huge.

I member when we ran a guy off for a smoke and mirrors SECE title. Would be nice to be that entitled again.

Sounding like Conley with the Kentucky love.

I hate Kentucky. I’m just not in denial over what stoops has built.

Two ten win season in the past four years is nothing to sneeze at. Again - when is the last time we’ve done that? Two wins vs Florida the past four years. When is the last time we’ve done that.

And don’t look now but they’re out recruiting us as well.

Trust me - I detest Kentucky. Which is why I’m so frustrated. But Tennessee fans sound dumb trying to dump on them right now.

It is. Not all records are created equal. We have an automatic loss or two every year.

We also schedule home and homes with OU, Oregon, Pitt, Miami, ND. They play UL.

Why? We beat them in both of those years. Of all schools, we can dump on them anytime.

When you turn college football into a business.. players make business decisions. With that said, I do think certain players have an inflated self-perception resulting in the belief that they’re better than they actually are.
