As much as it sucks, we are going to have to ride Heupel for the next 4 years. Look at where KY is because they stuck with Stoops. I have no doubt, given 4 years Heup can stablize the program and get us to medicare. We need to hope that happens before OU and TX join.
Lord, Medicare - we in trouble aren’t we

This. Sec is gonna be crazy tough when they join. We haven't adapted very well to mizzou and a&m joining at all.

This offense is moving with no stars, no RB, no Center, no WR, a shaky OL and no QB. I don't think he's gonna need 4. I do think he's gonna need some recruiters. And we're going to have to utilize just how big our fanbase is in the coming NIL wars.

I just looked. It took Stoops until year 4 to go bowling. It took until year 6 to have a 10 win season. He hasn't had a losing season since year 3, last year would've been 8 if OOC games were played. It's going to be a long dark road, and get worse with TX and OU joining the conference

Why is it every Tennessee gameday I feel like someone should post a link to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline?

We are over-invested. TBH, it's the same with winning teams. I can remember being upset at wins during the good years. And all you need do is listen to UGA fans after a loss to see it doesn't matter if the team is good or bad -- fans don't deal well with losses.

I think Heupel could pay off long term. We will be competitive this year but too many holes to legitimately compete. The hope is we develop great stability over the next several years. But we have to become a program that prospects and their families feel they can count on not to change regimes every few years. Great players dont want to deal with the constant uncertainty here. Heupel has an uphill climb.

Programs with stability have an advantage. Pitt had it today. Veterans that have been in the program year after year, showing the young ones the way. The ceiling at Tennessee is much higher when we have stability.

I think there's a good chance that we have a coach who is good enough not to screw up the relationship with the fanbase like previous coaches did. He knows he has to earn our respect here. He's expressed that from day 1. Pruitt, Butch and Dooley all came in entitled and eventually resented us for not liking the product. They never earned the right to keep this job. I think Heupel likely will over time. And patience will deliver the rewards we seek.

I've lost all confidence in Heupel, everybody on VN can see he picked the wrong QB. At least, Pruitt was a defensive coach, but Heupel's speciality is the offense and QB and he can't see it, I'm almost speechless. I always say the coaches know more than me, but I don't know, anymore, I knew JG sucked, early and I knew Milton sucked earlier. But apparently, our last 2 coaches need to see the "Suckitude" longer than I do. Sorry, I just can't put up with the sh!t anymore. I will still live and die with every play, but it's not going to ruin my day, weekend, week, anymore.
