I don't think this current iteration will ever really click. I just hope the next coach doesn't take us back to Wade Houston land. It sounds like everybody wants Barnes fired.
I agree this team looks off.

I don't want Barnes fired, he's been very good for the university. The problem with him is he underachieved at Texas with some very good teams and he's done the same thing here. He's a top 20-25 coach, not a top 5 coach. I can see him retiring in 2-3 years and I think White will bring in a high quality young coach.

I hate to say it and I'm not in the fahr Barnes camp, but they have checked out. Remains to be seen if he can regain the trust.

This team is not competing and has no identity on O.
Literally just held OM to their lowest points/possession ever lol.

Overreaction central. We have half of the season, and a huge majority of conference play, remaining. Nobody has checked out 😅

Feels similar to 2018...2019? One of those years we started off with a losing SEC record...fans said they were DONE...promised to never post again...and we went on to win the league 😅🤣😂

Let's overcome snowflake tendencies and realize everyone loses in CBB...it's a loooong season. During today's game I was reminded of 2019(?) Maybe 2018? UK game when they BEAT OUR A** the first game....then we crushed them the 2nd game.

Let's ride.

I think a lot of you have issues reacting to basketball losses like they're football losses. The games are important but they don't make or break you. Just have to make sure we have a good enough resume for March and play well in March.

Still concerning how underwhelming and frustrating the play has been
Bingo. Non-basketball fans seem to be the worst at accepting BB losses.

I'll never forget the Lady Vols season when ESPN followed our team around and recording us...may have been one of the first ever of that type of thing. We went on to lose 10 games during the regular season, which is considerably more dooming in WBB where there is far less parity. All we did is go on to win it all.

Don't sweat it. Just hope we develop during Feb/Mar...that's the key.

Who's got our offensive stats comparing this year and last year? I know it was posted a while back but I lost the tab.

This is a good, not great team..they will win a few more and lose a few more and get bounced in the tourneys quickly unless they go one one of those crazy unexplainable runs...it's BB...it happens.

If I ever had to pick a random good, but not great team to make a run it would be based on this:

1) Great PG
2) Shoot a lot of 3s (up the variance)
3) Great D

Not saying it is at all likely, but that's the kind of team that CAN go on a run. Let it fly, play D...top notch PG.

Yep.

X-Factors to me are:
  • Hundley-Hatfield - he has the body type and skill to be a force and completely change our style of play with a big inside presence
  • Team chemistry - the postgame quotes leave an impression that it hasn't been great - if they respond to this game the right way and fix that, this team might be great

I find this quote interesting. Jahmai is a FR who doesnt play much.

So was Sheriron Jones.

Anyone can be a real and motivational player and a leader. Just have spirit and fire. May not mean anything as a player, but it's good to have those guys.

Barnes is also pressing buttons here I'm sure...he needs one of the starters to lead.

Thats why I find it interesting. In a perfect world youre starting PG is the leader of the team, but the world aint perfect.

Whenever the daughter goes into one of the internal monologues I keep thinking “is this family really from late 1800s Tennessee?” It’s like she lived in New York.

1883 took a nose dive after they left Fort Worth.

They should have stayed in town so Billy Bob, Sam Elliott, and Tim McGraw could have eventually killed every miscreant, leper, and wayward immigrant.

Assume at some point we’ll see some clashes with Indians. The setting where they’re filming is cheap and not interesting, not even kind of pretty… I guess that’s west Texas.

The daughter is a good actress and steals the show, but do agree the monologues make me laugh… feels like it could break into an SNL skit from 20 years ago.
