Happy the LV's are winning.

Let's watch their performance over the remaining season since the schedule toughens. In to the lack of offensive system, I see problems with quickness at the front court positions to go with their spotty shooting. Against quick front courts their O handle and defense worsens. How they compensate for those weaknesses will determine what happens going forward.

AP said in the thread that we are keeping him. He's a Vol.

Imagine next season with Tillman, Neyor, McCoy, and an emerging Hyatt at receiver to go along with an even better Hendon Hooker.
I still think the OL has to get better for the offense to take another step. It's a thousand wonders how Hooker only through 3 picks with as little time as he had to throw on passes down the field this year. The short quick stuff will only continue to work if we can balance it with a solid run game and down the field passing. I felt like we ran the ball decent but are capable of even more with an improved OL.

Barnes is fine. This year hasn't gone like anyone thought it wanted.

The good news.. We're still really really good defensively.

And it's not like we're not getting offensive looks we want... We just aren't finishing.

This team needs to find confidence... Somehow.

To me this is a mental thing. Barnes does need to figure that out.

But I'll take Barnes. Between him and Pearl, they've put, and kept Tennessee relevant in basketball for the better part of the past 15-16 years.

I have a feeling that won't change with crb at the helm.

But this year has been disappointing so far, so I get the frustration.
In College basketball, you can only have 13 players scholarship. UT signed 8 scholarship players last year so that's well over half of our players in their first year on campus. This was always gonna be a rebuilding year and this team doesn't have any chemistry. Barnes will figure it out though. We only have room for 1 scholarship for next year and that went to BJ. We're kinda in a pickle with our numbers and we can blame that on portal defections last year.

Florida just got a transfer CB from georgia, and, they're head coach last coached Louisiana. Are we being selective or is it just that bad?

Wth is going with the defensive cruiting and portal?

I was excited about Kimber's potential to be a good cover corner, and it seemed like he had a good chance to start in 2021 before he hurt his shoulder. But there have also been rumors that he struggled to gain weight and wasn't very physical in practice. We never got to see enough live action to know if that's true. I don't know what his weight is now but still listed at 170 lbs. We'll see how he turns out.

Hey man I’m just saying. I drove and hour n half just to go there and got the platter with everything so I could try it. Brisket has no flavor, tasted like it was oven cooked, chicken was dry. Best thing there was the sides. The family and I were very disappointed.
I was TWSS the dry tasteless meat comment lol

That is why having a program made up of talented (maybe not the elitely ranked coming in, yet still talented) kids that are motivated by other things than pure greed and selfishness is the way to go.

I hope it works for us, but one thing good about that strategy is that even if they can't win really big...it will be teams that are easy to pull for.

You would just hope that we could compete for titles...otherwise we are just playing exhibition football.

Think you've nailed UT's strategy-- and the expectation that fans will be proud to support the teams and happy that the decade of instability is over.

Everything should be better but RT. Hopefully we find someone serviceable there. We return everyone else.

How long will that last though? Are teams that are middle of the pack going to be easy to root for forever? Are fans going to continue over the long haul to settle for average teams? One thing that has kept the fan base engaged was hope. If the standards are lowered to being satisfied with average teams, that hope is pretty much out the window. I know if that's the goal, I'll be nothing more than a fan that observes from a far.

That's an interesting strategy. It will be very cool to watch how that transpires over the next few years.

I've said multiple times that fans have a lessor amount of influence than ever before. With the huge amount of TV revenue, the UTAD is more beholden to the conference and the flat screen. Everyone was pumped at the huge TV money that was/is coming, me included. Little did we know that we were rooting on our replacement.

I didn't think we were allowed to talk about being competitive??

The recent portaling was due to post-season exit interviews. Players with academic concerns and those who haven't locked down a position or are reluctant to try something else have been encouraged to consider their options. Some that were expected to leave left. Others will go through winter workouts and spring practice and see where things stand after spring ball. We need several more to leave. UT tends to be conservative with roster management, unless it's academic or conduct violations. Several UT sports could benefit from churning the roster to upgrade with transfers at key positions.

masks and Vax....
Hard to have an honest conversation on the subject without hurting someone's feelings and being called a leftist or a commie.

Having only a hand full of channels, entertainment was sparse on the tube back in the day but some of the most hilarious comedy we watched was Amos and Andy !

A few years ago, I bought the entire catalog of Amos and Andy TV shows for just a shade under $200. It's a DVD boxed set---every show. The guy who owns the rights to the shows is Lightnin'-----the janitor.
As a kid, I watched that show every week until the NAACP made the network take it off the air.
