So Pitt put up 397 yards against us in the game. 280 of those came in a sequence that resulted in 27 points in Q2.
The other drives the rest of the game? 127 yards allowed.
Folks, we’re getting closer. Would’ve loved to score a hundy on them but as crappy as our O is made out to be, we still put up 34 and minus a defensive lapse in Q2, we could’ve blown them out of the water.
Game 2 of a new regime, new schemes, old players buying in, I’ll take where we’re at and looking forward to WTFA this weekend.
Why do we not show up? Can't we go to game AND put $ in pot?I think everyone should pick a game, and we don't show up. Instead, everyone puts $100 (or whatever they're comfortable with) in a pot. Then we NIL that money ($1,000,000 - $10,000,000+) to 5-10 different players. We could probably just go 2014 Ole Miss recruiting class style, that was enough to change their trajectory. Finally get us a big time QB, big WR, a few defensive bad boys.
I'll build an app for it.
I agree, but we're suffering the effects of a long period of mismanagement as you well know, perhaps better than most. Correcting that is going to take time.I get where you're coming from, but few think 4 wins is respectable, and 5 won't be viewed all that favorably. If UT wants to continue to prop up financial support and attendance, they need to find a path to 6 wins and finish midpack or above in the SECE. Losing fatigue is real, and continuing to lose to bottom-tier SECE teams that used to be-- and should be-- gimmes is something UT does not want to do.
Right now we’re eating 20,000 seats a game. Unheard of at Tennessee. Couple this with Danny White and the new athletic department changing fundraising operations and taking season tickets away from long time holders, and fan apathy is as high as it has ever been.I agree, but we're suffering the effects of a long period of mismanagement as you well know, perhaps better than most. You are correct that fan fatigue is a huge factor, the pressure is intense. As a fan base we have to be honest about who and what we are right now. This is year zero, expectations are to improve an all time low. 4 to 5 wins gets you that. Right now I'm counting USCe and Vandy as wins. There is a path to 6 but it will be a difficult one for this roster.
Yeah, we’re not recruiting poorly because of the sanctions. That’s a crutch. High school recruits do not care at all if we’re missing out on the Liberty Bowl.Recruiting sucks. Wish we were good.
We gave one away to Pitt. That could kill the season. I don’t see us beating Mizzou or Kentucky with both being away. Hope I’m wrong. Think 5 wins is most likely now.Right now we’re eating 20,000 seats a game. Unheard of at Tennessee. It can turn around with wins, no doubt. But unfortunately our next home game of substance is South Carolina in three weeks. If you come back from Missouri 2-3, that crowd will be flat as well.
It’s honestly going to take hitting on a good QB who helps us overachieve for like 3 straight seasons and gain stability then have another QB step in who is good too.Yeah, we’re not recruiting poorly because of the sanctions. And I’m not saying it’s all on Heupel and the new staff. It’s simply because we have been bad for so long.
Absolutely, if this admin is banking on this team winning in the SEC to keep the fanbase engaged they're as delusional as some fans.Right now we’re eating 20,000 seats a game. Kids choose not to come for varying reasons….. I’m sure sanctions affect some of them…. We need to develop a fun environment that players are drawn too.Yeah, we’re not recruiting poorly because of the sanctions. That’s a crutch. I personally don't dislike you. I do think you try to find ways to make things look worse than they are. I think you have some good points and some I don't agree with. Like most other posters on here, LOL. Well, wait, there's plenty who have no good points, but you are not one of those. That’s the irony isn’t it? I’m disliked because I’m down on the program, but that guy hates nearly everything under the sun and most just let him rant without challenge. It’s funny to see.
Man winning that Pitt game was so important… we had it.Let’s go out and crush TT this weekend and get healthy. Then pray Bama unleashes hell on Florida and they limp into our game bruised and down. Then we come out on fire and shock the world in the Swamp. All the doom and gloom will be gone and happiness will be abundant. I’m ready for it.
