Hey, y'all...hope no one has killed anyone else since last Saturday! I've been on a roller coaster with my hubby. After Labor Day trying unsuccessfully to quit drinking, he used a vacation day for Tuesday then missed Wednesday, too. Wednesday night he prayed for salvation. Went to work Thursday. They fired him Friday because he sent a message instead of calling. He has done it before so they were just tired of the missing. So he had to drink Friday after a struggle. He called someone Monday and had an interview Tuesday and starts Monday. They are working so much OT he won't have time to drink. God has put the ball in his court. I would appreciate prayers for both of us. I am exhausted. I don't even like roller coasters. @nicksjuzunk could you give me the website again please? He may be ready to listen now.

Love you all! Can't even think about football right now though.

Alcoholism destroyed my parents’ marriage. Affected all 3 of us kids. My Dad never fought his way clear. Died from lung cancer right after my 16th birthday. He always chose alcohol over his children. It’s a truly awful problem.

My dad always had a huge issue with it although he was still a good dad to us during that time….. when I turned 18….. he got saved and still to this day has never taken another drink…. It truly was amazing.

Lol. I was joking. With a dad dying from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis I ain't putting nothing in these lungs but air if I have a choice about it.

Really sorry you're going through this. So many things more important than football. Hope things get easier and a fresh start makes a difference.

Trade school is a great option if you can find something you are interested in. I’ve taught a few students with bachelor degrees.

Wayyyyy over saturated market. I know people who went to law school that are bartenders right now.

This is true. You also really don't need to go to school. Many companies that I know of are looking for apprentices that have the ability to learn on the job. HVAC is great field to go into. You can learn the ropes, get certified, become very good at it and make decent money. Do that for a few years and start your own business. A van, and minimal tools and you're in business. You can charge around $100/hr for your services. Other specialty trades are similar.

I smoked last night with some buddies. Don’t have a problem with it. But the research is pretty sparse. We don’t really know what the potential long term effects of smoking hold. Vaping either. I predominantly vape whenever I do INHALE.

So it took a long time for the long term effects of cigarettes to be seen after mass production began at WWII. Seems like a big gamble to me to find out the hard way what vaping will do to you 20 years from now…

I think Rick nueheisel said it best on his podcast today. In order to compete in today’s college football a university should hire a GM with 15-20 assistants to work on nothing but the best NIL deals for the student athletes. He said that’s the only way teams like Tennessee and Nebraska will ever close the gap between the elite teams.

And yet everyone said Bama was dead for years and never coming back or competing with the elites. It’s all about who you hire. NIL should actually help us though.

I agree. We just bought a house in December last in Charlotte, and we almost waited because we were just moving to the area and didn’t know where to buy. Decided not to wait and thank goodness we didn’t. My house has increased in value by $80k in 10 months. I don’t think I would be able to afford a house now if we had waited. At least not one we wanted.
