I think "Anchor Down" is stupid. If the anchor is down, you're not going anywhere, you're stuck in the same place. I would've, at least, went with "Anchor Away", if I were dead set on incorporating anchor.
Anchor Down almost works for the defense…but boats weather the storm best at sea being able to ride the storm out literally.

Andy trying to be smart is so dumb…

One of my wife’s classmates is a merchant marine captain. Has a video of waves crashing over the decks of his tanker as it heads out of port into the teeth of a hurricane. The tanker is safer at sea in the hurricane than anchored down in port…😳

Maybe we do want the vandy teams to all anchor down in the path of our Big Orange Cataclysmic Storm that’s about to decimate all teams in our path regardless of sport! 🤠

This post makes me want to smack Chris Rock or anyone for that matter, for absolutely no good reason

Gambling on the same game you’re playing or managing? Not stupid. Loved Pete Rose…glad he won’t be alive if he ever is enshrined in Cooperstown.
let me expound, it is stupid to hold a player liable after he has paid his dues. Its extremely dumb and holds merit to the elitist old white guy reputation baseball has.

How does one “pay their dues” and deserve to be honored…after denying it for over 20 years before hawking a book? And why bring race into a white on white issue?

What happens if they determine the bat was ok after the fact?
The bat was not illegal itself. It didn't have the sticker on so that made it illegal. This same thing happened in another SEC game. All bats are inspected by the opposing team and they place a sticker on it after inspection. If they fall off and the bat is used, it's considered illegal. It's kinda hard to cork a metal bat :):)

I gave up on baseball when they banned Rose. I can understand banning him from being around the game but the whole HoF ban was and remains nonsense, especially with respect to those they've allowed in. Once I gave up watching as a kid, it's hard to watch on tv at all. I can go to a game and enjoy it but tv baseball is no fun, imo.

It's good though for the game to have teams that bring some personality. Because to me it's tough to watch on tv. It's a slower game than most broadcast sports but a team like this you do want to cheer for.
Since Rose was never gonna get into the HOF, he should have signed a long-term contract with a major sports book and had them run commercials promoting betting on MLB games :cool::cool:

My take, he was a gambling addict, and there is no evidence he ever bet against his own team, and I believe from his effort that he bet only for his team to win every night and played as such.
He did not inject performance enhancing drugs into his body.
One seems forgivable, and one does not

We are impying some measure of being morally incorrupt before we can recognize someone was great at their craft. In this case the greatest
