I just ate a can of Vienna sausage. Those things have been a must so far in my 18 years military/govt career.

When I was on deployment I would chop up the Vienna sausages into a few pieces and put them into a cup of noodles or spicy ramen. Can’t imagine doing it now but that **** felt like a delicacy on deployment 😂

Yeah I heard about the one James Madison softball player that was involved in their CWS run.
"
The announcement of Bernett's death came a day after the Colonial Athletic Association named her its Player of the Week. The sophomore catcher earned the honor Monday after going 7-for-9 with seven RBIs and four runs scored, including a home run, during a three-game sweep of Drexel this past weekend.

To honor Bernett, Liberty and Tennessee -- who both played JMU in last season's NCAA Regionals -- wore purple ribbons during their softball game Wednesday. Liberty, the host school, also painted Bernett's initials and number onto the field."

I miss being able to watch Looney Tunes and The Flintstones. That helped me when I had just got out at the beginning of Desert Shield and ex hubby was shipped out to parts unknown.
They show both on the MeTv network if you have it. Looney Tunes every morning, including Saturdays!

Do you hear yourself? A can of sausages? Real sausages do not come in cans. As a person of German ancestry, I am horrified by the idea of a can of sausages.

All this nasty sammich talk reminded me of my cousin that ate peanut butter and potted meat sammichs all thr time. For those not cultured in potted meat, see below

Potted meat, Kool aid, and dirty creek water is what my my immune system so strong growing up 🤣

We ate the heck out of Vienna sausages when I was growing up in Knoxville back in the 70s and 80s.

My mom also used to make Spam for dinner regularly. If I remember right, she would sauté slices of it in a pan on the stove till it was carmelized; then put some cheese on top and serve it sandwich style, like a Spam Melt.

I grew up in a hollar in Kentucky, and we had the biggest yard. All the kids would come to my house to play, I also had the only basketball goal for years. We weren't rich, but my mom wanted everyone to have something to eat and drink, so it was pitted meat, Vienna occasionally, spam occasionally, and Kool aid. Good times though, wouldn't change it for anything.

Spam was a "tasty" snack for me growing up. My dad would fry it and make sammiches for dinner when my mom was cooking. Haven't touched the stuff since

Don't forget the inbreeding. The fact you came from a gene drip rather than a gene pool played a part.
No joke, when my wife got really bad last year from the infection they had to give her blood at one point. I told them they should use mine, and the Dr asked why. I said I had pure inbred KY blood, and it would kill anything. The look on her face was worth it 🤣
