Not the end of the world, but we don't take a step forward next year without some good additions. Just getting Hunter to split time with ZZ, basically taking KC's spot, would be huge. Nothing against BJE, but I don't think he's ready for that role. Not as big on Philips as I am getting a quality PG, but adding another dynamic player would be really nice.
The guys who entered the portal were not gonna make much of an impact next year. Barnes will fill these spots but it's not like we're losing a bunch of difference makers. If push comes to shove, our starters will just have to play more minutes next year. That might be a good thing.

Why do you think so? I’m genuinely curious…

I don't like that it's a weekday evening and I have to work in the morning.
I don't like that it's no longer just a 2 day draft and now takes up 3 days (one of which is Friday evening).
I don't like that that now 2 evenings are being taken up that weren't before.
I don't like that Sunday (the main day NFL is on) is no longer even a part of the draft.

I feel like most people only care about the first 3 rounds, and they used to all happen on Saturday. So you could tune-in about noon and watch those rounds and still have Saturday evening for yourself. Now though Thursday Evening, Friday Evening and then Saturday are all lined up for the draft.

I mean I know this is all subjective and unsupported by viewership data. But I just don't care as much anymore, they pushed it out further from the combine, spread it out over 3 days instead of 2 and slapped the most important rounds on 2 different nights.

I also don't like that it directly competes with NBA playoffs (Thursday evening specifically). I think some format changes have been good, shorter time limits on picks for one. But just not a fan of having to flip between draft and NBA games on Thursday night now. ESPN (not having the NBA playoff contracts) I'm sure doesn't play any role in the format change for the NFL draft that they carry exclusively though...

I grew up dirt poor and my mother would fry some bologna until it formed a little cup and then put mashed potatoes in it---she called it bologna cups and we ate them on a regular basis. It was a different time in the 50's. We were happy to get the simplest things. Sounds like some of our privileged people only ate steak as a kid

My mom's aunt (so my great aunt) used to babysit us, and we were all from poor families. But the simplest snack was one I always looked forward to when she babysat us, cheese bread. She took a few slices of white bread and cheese. Put them all on a baking sheet and we'd watch the cheese bubble up and discolor, then that was when they were ready to come out and we'd eat them by the slice not even pressed together as a sandwich. Just cheese melted on bread in the oven.

I recall as a youngin eating soup beans and cornbread at least once a week my entire time at home with the parents. Complained once. Was advised that it was to remind me and siblings we would not be alive if soupbeans had not been around when they were young. They ate them way more than once a week.

My momma fixed that for us too and we called it cheese toast

Yep as a kid every dinner had at least soup beans, cornbread, or potatoes (fried or mashed). Sometimes we'd get all three! I've got so many memories attached to eating soup beans and cornbread with my family.

I grew up in Nashville and had horrible asthma and allergies every year. Moved to Knoxville and it got worse. Moved to Mississippi and had few allergy issues - only giant ragweed for about 3 days in the fall and some minor spring allergies.

When I went to New Zealand I didn't sneeze, get congested, or have a runny nose for 3 months. Couldn't hardly breathe for a week straight when I got back.

I think New Zealand is the last place on Earth with the best air quality left.
