I thinj Knoxville and Asheville have some of worst instances of allergies in the US. Have no data to support that. Just a rumor

The stat I've always heard was that the 40-mile radius around Chattanooga contains more species of trees (and thus, types of pollen) than any other place in the continental U.S. More kinds of pollen means better chance of one being your personal trigger.

Working with HS students and athletes, I get the daily pollen count for Chattanooga.
Moderate = 15-89
High = 90-1,499
Very High = > 1,500
We've not only been Very High almost every day the past several weeks, we've had counts up into the high 2,000s. Some years we'll have several days over 3,000.

But if it's dogwood that sets your sinuses off... Knoxville is your Chernobyl.

Unreal that this was an outpatient procedure.

Unless you’re so high that you’re imagining you’re on I 40. Maybe that’s it.

I grew up dirt poor and my mother would fry some bologna until it formed a little cup and then put mashed potatoes in it---she called it bologna cups and we ate them on a regular basis. It was a different time in the 50's. We were happy to get the simplest things. Sounds like some of our privileged people only ate steak as a kid

This sounds amazing. My mom always told me that bologna sandwiches were a treat for her and her siblings when they were kids.

My mom's aunt (so my great aunt) used to babysit us, and we were all from poor families. But the simplest snack was one I always looked forward to when she babysat us, cheese bread. She took a few slices of white bread and cheese. Put them all on a baking sheet and we'd watch the cheese bubble up and discolor, then that was when they were ready to come out and we'd eat them by the slice not even pressed together as a sandwich. Just cheese melted on bread in the oven.

Was a staple in our household.

In honor of @StoVol apparently surviving his surgery, I’m announcing that for today I am identifying as HopeniX. (This is like Hopenis, but more woke and trendy).

Your momma named you @bluegrasser. I'm gonna call you @bluegrasser.

Enjoyed the thread today. Helped me get through a neverending, mandatory training on some new federal regulations that may apply to about .0000001 percent of the work I do on a daily basis.
Welcome to Corporatized/Formal America. I can remember being trained as a 15 year old food runner on things I'd never encounter and were way above me. Very enjoyable...not...but I just thought of it as getting paid to watch a video or listen to a lecture. This is the way.
