LOL Has nothing to do with the loss. Go back and read what I said. I said "I wonder why TV doesn't use him as closer "along with Walsh." And I also said that what I said was not anything bad about Walsh. He's been great. So the "easy to say after a loss" doesn't have anything to do with my statement. And your statement about he has never been in that position, neither had Walsh at one time. At some point everyone has to start with the first time. Walsh isn't always going to be on like tonight. He was very hittable.
Walsh's stuff, to me, is a great followup to burns to set up a closer. Trot him out there as a setup guy. Normally we're up a bunch if runs anyway.LOL Has nothing to do with the loss. Because Tony trusts Walsh. He is THE closer. He blew the save. It happens. You don't just have to pitch great to be the closer. You have to have the right mindset. Tony clearly thinks that Walsh does. Walsh is likely not available today if he is needed and Tony will use someone else.LOL Has nothing to do with the loss. Go back and read what I said. Injury concerns, and just being tired of college and wanting to move on..in my opinion.I feel like cade could have made more money with a decent NIL vs 6th round draft pick. Not sure why he wouldn't come back another year.
Prime examples of hard work, buying in and just being coachable paying off in a winning lottery ticket.Flowers and Banks might get themselves drafted next year. I don't think anyone expected Theo Jackson would get drafted this time last year. I'd argue few expected Butler would be drafted until midway through the season.
You say it would have been done weeks ago. That may be true but when you have the luxury that TV has with Walsh you don't have to be in a hurry. And why does it not make sense to try him in the later part of the season after he has had several appearances already. At some point Walsh was ran out there and became a proven closer. You can't be a proven closer until you get the opportunity. Now if TV wants to try him as starter then great that would answer the question I asked to start this whole conversation. And as far as your last comment about the loss, I had already when we first got introduce to Joyce as a picture thought he would be an awesome closer. You are trying to make this out about the loss. So we are only allowed to ask things after a win? It's baseball. Your going to lose some games. lolBut I doubt they put Joyce in that spot 3/4 through the season. If they were going to do it, it would have been weeks ago. Just doesn’t make sense to run Joyce out there in the 7th SEC series of the year. They run these guys in spots early in the year to see how they do for later. I would say you wouldn’t have made the comment if we had won.

If he sticks around he might be closer next year. Right now he just doesn't have enough experience to be a closerWalsh is the closer and I wasn't questioning that. I was simply asking or wondering if TV has consider using Joyce as a closer along with not instead of. When I first saw Joyce I thought he could be a really tough closer. Not to replace Walsh. Walsh has been solid and tried to make sure in my original post that it wasn't anything toward Walsh, I just would love to see what Joyce could do as a close.
