Rough weekend, dad's back home and will no longer receive treatment. Most of the paperwork on things has been handled at this point, but he's got at home hospice and we'll just try to cherish what time we have left with him.

Thank you to all you morans that have kept him and our family in your thoughts and prayers (or goat sacrifices if that's what you're into...)

Personally, I'm into prayer, so that's what I'll be doing for him, you, and the rest of the family. Sorry your (and our) time here is limited, but I'll be praying for comfort and also enjoyment of the time remaining.

You know you are spoiled as a fan base when you are legitimately thinking “Best team of all time or bust.” 😂
Crazy, but feels like it. Though I know that's silly...we've created such a high bar for ourselves and yet many teams that have almost mirrored this level of success didn't even win it all.

Winning it all would be the cherry on top. GOAT we can even achieve without winning it all. Like Oregon St 2018. Though I know many fans won't accept that and put all their eggs into a highly random tournament rather than...ya know...an entire 50 game season.

'95 Cal State Fullerton might be the one exception. Was elite regular season and even moreso in the postseason.

Is it safe to say that Lincoln Riley is perhaps the most low key dirty coach in country? He puts on a cool nice guy wouldn’t hurt a fly act in public then shady as all get out behind the scenes. Did it to us last year. Doing it to several programs this year. He and Mark Stoops low key dirty tactics
Maybe. Imk most programs are dirty. This is like talking about bagmen all over again. A few will be seen as dirty and doing it. In reality, most probably are. Many will think others are dirty, but not their team. But they probably are too. I have zero doubt we've been tampering. It is what it is.

So...why is Brees a doucher.
Not Jack but maybe he's referencing his shockingly willful ignorance shown over years, a couple of times. He definitely came off poorly. But imo he learnt himself and his own teammate said he was convinced Brees was being genuine.

I'd much rather encourage growth and learning and understanding, hell, especially when most of your teammates are black...it's shocking it took him so long, but better late than never to come to understanding. A situation where publick backlash ended in a positive situation. No cancelling, no butthurtedness. Just him growing and becoming an ally. I'll applaud that. This is the way.

I'm at work trying to close the books for April. Somebody will have to take over for a few days...

We will boom without you.

If we don’t win the championship then we did fail to reach our goal…. The only reason you play is to be the last team standing…. It doesn’t mean that people needs to overreact or can’t remember fondly the accomplishments that happened this season…. I am sure TV and the team would agree with that.

Sure, that's one of the main goals. I agree.

But it doesn't determine who the best team ever is or what a very successful season is. All I'm saying. It's silly to put a high-variance knockout tournament's success over that of a 50 game season, which is much more telling of how good you were. Lots of luck in non-professional (7 game series, for instance) tournaments.

Retired Baseball coach where I work took the opportunity to "lecture" me about the Vols behavior this weekend. Said UT shouldn't have run up the score Friday and need to stop breaking the "unwritten rules". Are you kidding me? If it ain't written it ain't a rule. Baseball snobs are some of the worst.
I bet he squats to pee

You don’t get to be the greatest team of all time without having a championship next to your name. Tennessee has had an awesome season though…. I hope they run all the way though it..

What's wrong with that? 😅 It's relaxing and 0% chance of missing the dartboard. Stand if at home and in a hurry or in public, otherwise give me a rest off my feet.

And if it's dark, middle of the night, I'll keep my eyes closed the entire way to the bathroom, keep the light off, and sit to pee. Then go back to bed, no exposure to light and right back to bed. This is the way.

I just wear diapers to bed

Coached teams for a long time little league to college. What do you do embarrass them by having beck bat lefthanded etc. You get the crap beat out. 2 things occur, you get better and make you want to get better so it does not happen again or you sit there and sulk whine and bitch about it. As a true competitor I would be more embarrassed with players laughing batting cross handed etc then getting the piss beat out of you.

Many people would disagree re: 2018 Oregon St. There's just too much variance, injuries, bad umpire calls, etc to make it all about what is possibly just 1 loss/game.

You may be right some talking heads may avoid doing so, but doesn't change the facts of who the most dominant team over the course of a season is. Jmo but it's just putting undue importance on a handful of games over many dozen games.

Writers may not agree, but Vegas/power rankings/analytics would and that's who I trust. Just like UGA...didn't even win their own conference, many writers doubting them because AlAbaMa AlREady BeAt TheM. That didn't change the fact that UGA was the most dominant team all season long and Vegas knew better. If that had been a BCS season, Bama would've been the champion. Would not have changed the fact UGA was the best team and Vegas favorite.

Whoo boy. Goal #1 as a financial analyst...figure out more analysis, database, ERP, dashboard work that needs to be done and get off of closing duties for good. I can feel your pain from here! Definitely different from company to company though. I started only going after pure analytical positions...so many want you to be a day to day accountant or have closing duties, it's wild. Though iirc you're military, I'm guessing things are different. Just gotta convince em of some new big project to work on 😄

I no longer work for time for the military. I have been in the private sector for about 4 years now. Yeah. Our F&A team is pretty lean so we all pitch in during close. I am down a head on the FP&A side though so I am trying to transition as many journal entries and such as I can get away with to the pure accounts so we can do more real analyst type work. It has been a crazy couple of years though and progress is slow sometimes.

That’s not how Vegas works….. Vegas doesn’t give two sh&ts who the most dominant team is…. They care how they feel the betting public will gamble…. They create lines and adjust lines constantly based on how they feel the betting public will wager…. They want the exact same number of people will beat on Georgia and Alabama so that the house will win the 10%…. i.e. the house always wins….. Oregon State failed in 2018 bc they lost win it mattered.

AKA he spoke the truth of a situation his teammates and people who pay him didn't like it so he retracted what he said
