Kids get tired of Italians?Best family vacation ever was 10 days in Italy.
My kids were 10 and 7 (10 years ago this Summer ). My wife and I were worried that they would get bored going to the museums and magnificent churches, but they were enthralled by the history. It was a wonderful time for my family. We powered our way across Rome, Florence, and Venice on gelato. Anytime the kids started to get tired, we powered up with gelato. Considering that we walked almost everywhere, we made lots of gelato stops. One day in Rome, we walked 12 miles. Kids never complained!
The history there is indescribable. I could have spent a week in the Vatican museum just by itself…
I can only imagine how awesome that was. I have pretty much given up on European travel, there are just still so many places here that I still want to go...I can't do both, and "See America First" won out.Best family vacation ever was 10 days in Italy.

Would love to one day spend a few weeks visiting Italy, Greece etc. Never had the chance or affordability but still on my bucket list. Fortunately we were able to send our son on a three week trip with a group of other student anbassadors when he was 14. The two things he still remembers and talks about the most are visiting the Vatican and going to the death camp in Auswitch where they actually walked through one of the gas chambers.Best family vacation ever was 10 days in Italy.

I feel the same. As impressive as all of the manmade attractions are in Europe, I would rather explore the natural wonders of America. The coliseum would be awesome, but the Grand Canyon is awe-inspiringI can only imagine how awesome that was. Again, he made a terrible mistake. I agree he picked the worst possible hill to die on. He definitely has some accountability for the huge mess we were in when DW was hired. It was a mistake to hire him as AD, but, again, at the time, most of us thought it was a great idea. He hitched his wagon to the worst nag possible. We were all wrong but what prevented Fulmer from firing him when he should have?
I keep hearing folks mention some kind of a salary cap as a possibility for managing NIL. I see NO way that could work. Salary caps in professional sports are only capping how much a team can pay for their roster. It has nothing to do with capping how much an individual can make in endorsements. Even if athletes became employees of the Universities and there was a cap in place the athletes would still be free to profit off of their own name. To not be able to would be like telling Lebron that he isn't allowed to make money from Nike. Or even better, could you imagine the uproar if they told him how much he was allowed to make from Nike?
I also see no way that they could prohibit you from making money from corporations/entities that are either owned or have "boosters" in their management/on their boards. If that was to happen wouldn't companies be able to sue because they are being restricted from investing their money as they see fit?
Think about it like this-
Would Saban not be allowed to do his crappy AFLAC commercials if say AFLAC was owned by an Alabubba booster or alum? Would anyone tell him that it would be illegal to make money from them? Of course not.
We will see how this all eventually plays out but, at the moment, it seems like a whole bunch of straw grasping.
It's unlikely that college football keeps this hybrid amateur/professional model for very long, teams too unstable and too many legal problems. More likely to eventually move toward the NFL model IMO. Players get revenue sharing/salaries, but they give up some freedom of choice and movement in the process. You might have drafts, contracts, trades replacing this state of free agency and bidding for recruits and transfers. Once players don't have complete freedom to choose their team, or leave when someone offers more money, my guess is the NIL contract values will drop to true market value of their name, image, and likeness, because the "inducement" value will no longer exist.
