I still cannot see it in front of the pole even in your offering. But my eyes are old. Guessing if it was not correct we will hear about it today. Lots of techno guys have probably been at work on this one. At worst it would fall into the you never know classification since the final was 10-0.

This may be the greatest example of documentable bad officiating by one official in one game. This was his third really bad call of the day.

With seconds to go before the half Matthews called a running clock on the sideline when a UT receiver caught and toe tapped on his way out of bounds and was contacted by a DB, probably costing us at least a FG attempt.

At the same endzone of the pass, a FL player caught a ball in the left flat and was driving for the endzone, was contacted, came down clearly very upright on BOTH knees just outside the one and then fell and slid forward into the endzone and Matthews awarded a TD. Replay would have corrected this one today.

Two things showed how bad this exhibition was. There was an emergency rules meeting called to clarify what it takes to be a catch in the endzone and a mid season letter went out to all crews. But the most obvious one is that Matthews was SOON reassigned to Rocky Goode's crew where he could not possibly be assigned to another UT game. Think that was an accident?

All of those calls are on the game film.... Oddly enough there was a TV crew following this crew that day for one of those TV features. The post game meeting they had looked like a bunch of cats feathers in their mouth and hanging their heads. I was surprised the league allowed them to show it. They ALL knew they were part of a documented debacle. It happens, and will as long as humans attempt to fill those roles. Most do an admirable job within the limits of their humanness, it's those exceptions, the really bad ones that stick out.

Example of the times in which we live that is filled with corruption multiplied by thousands. 👍

Example - How many offensive holding calls could be made on every play? The response I hear is that if they called it as the rulebook says, there would be at least one penalty on every play. So, it's OK to only selectively enforce the rule? Is that what people are saying? Enforce the rule or change it. If there are a lot of penalties called, the coaches and O-linemen will learn to stop violating the rule. Again - enforce or change. It removes some of the subjectivity and slant. Give the coaches the opportunity to appeal penalty calls some X number of times per game.

Ole Miss was literally tackling our guys last year the entire game. Got away with it. Any of you still remember Corral running draws up the middle all night? Guess who got tackled before he could get to Corral - Banks. They would bring a G or T down after the snap and pass rush to tackle him and Corral would cut off the tackle.

But no, nothing to see here according to a couple of posters.

For those that remember Steve Sax. His son was killed in the recent Osprey crash.

Steve Sax's son among 5 Marines killed in crash
I recall being in DC when Sr signed the deal to take those concept plane/helicopters and put them into service.

Our class met Jimmy Quillen. Granted, Id met him before. Nice guy. Also spoke at my HS graduation.

Those things were considered dangerous prior to Military implementing them. So sad to hear about kids dying, will def have they and their families in my prayers tonite.

I've always maintained that it's not the penalties they call, it's the ones they don't call.

The one thing that people forget about all of this is that it was only second down for Florida. They still would have had at least one more chance and could have kicked a FG on 4th down to tie. Still, horrendously horrible call.
True, but also only 20 seconds on clock before that play was run. We could’ve intercepted the next pass.

I don’t want to get into a discussion about it bc I think it was BS rule and call as well…. The reason for the call back then was bc catches in the end zone and field of play were ruled differently….. in the end zone…. All a player had to do was possess the ball for a split second bc he was across the plane of the end zone…. That idiotic rule led to BS calls like this one.

Apparently a new drug Dostarlimab has shown great results in eradicating Colon Cancer and getting rid of solid tumors.

They did a trial with 12 participants and after 6 months and taking the medication every 3 weeks for that 6 months they all came back completely clear of cancer.

The study is published in the New England Journal of Medicine already.
