Skankey refusing to enforce the rule against cheating Nickie the fraud is a firing offense. Then the SEC refused to enforce the rule against Saban even when a member school pointed out the violation.

ATM should have publicly declared that the rule against speaking against a member institution was invalided by Sankey in the case of Alabama and Saban, because the two were in illegal combination to rig the sport, and then just refused to shut up.

They should have gone after bammer with a team of lawyers and AD people and listed every single allegation they knew or had even heard of regarding cheating Nick the fraud, going back to "stolen glory" Saban the cheat's first day at Alabama. And the same with all of the Skankey and the SEC rigging. Add hundreds of new allegations every single day, until thousands of allegations are public.

But everybody goes along because... gravy train.

Speaking of which, I hate how CBS, in the final 3 paragraphs, turns this classic RICO-style rigged SEC-bammer collusion into a TV commercial for... themselves.

Ask me how I really feel about it.
1) Kick out Sankey

2) Kick out Texas and OU

3) Unveil catalogs of ledgers proving Saban's cheating...found in a .txt file on Sankey's Win98 desktop named "Chargers Boats n Hoes".

Steele has Kentucky at 3 in his Going Down list (85% chance of weaker or same record from 2021)

Has us as the 27th toughest schedule this year.

We are #2 in the SEC and #13 overall in returning production

he is high on LSU and Florida this year, out of the SEC. Low on Ole Miss and Arkansas.

Likes us in his power rankings, 5th in the SEC, 2nd in the East. Probably the highest I've seen us since 2016.

Has us at 11th in his Power Poll.

Does have Pitt as his number one surprise team in 2022, wonder if he made that list before they lost Addison.
Also has Florida as his number two most improved team in 2022.

Phil has us at #27 in his preseason top 40:
The Vols have one of the nation's most explosive offenses and 15 starts back for Heupel. They do face Pitt, UGA, and LSU on the road and draw Bama out of the West, but they will be fun to watch.

I also take solace in the fact that Skankey is working to change the rules to have a season, then an SEC tournament, and then a playoff -- the very system that everyone says is bad in baseball and basketball -- because cheating Nickie and the guy with the goods on Alabama are afraid they are going to miss the playoffs soon. Unless Skankey gives them a backdoor way in,

From PhilSteele:

Has our QB unit as the 9th best QB unit in the country.

Has our RBs at 41.

Receivers at 17th.

OL 25th.

DL 21

LBs 40

DBs 44

Special Teams 10
Sounds about right, albeit I'm more skeptical of our 2nd and 3rd level defense.

Offensive scheme clearly boosts every category, which is never measured, but a huge advantage to us.

I suppose Texas and OU are coming in because Nickie the fraud really does fear A&M and that SEC status for those schools hurts A&M recruiting. If Alabama loses the A&M game, they might well miss the playoff. If Alabama loses a second game, for example, Tennessee, Alabama would almost certainly miss the playoffs... unless Skankey changes the playoff system by adding an intervening SEC tournament.

The playoff system was already changed once for cheating Nickie. When LSU beat Alabama in a great game, Saban was allowed a rematch. That had never happened in the history of the sport. I bet the great pumpkin wouldn't have minded some rematches. Also, if Alabama loses the SEC championship game, they advance to the national championship game, anyway. But if USC, for example, rises, which they are going to do, Saban the fraud might have to go home like anybody else if he loses the West or loses the SEC championship game.

Every time I go to Arizona and see those pebble yards, I wonder why I spend so much money and time maintaining grass.
If you look into the origin and history of the lawn you'll laugh. Lawns were invented as a gaudy demonstration of "I'm so rich I have all this land that I can do f*** all with and not grow any food or have any livestock on and just waste it"

I think people are gonna be real surprised this year by that RB group...ya return the bulk of the production, and we add a guy who is about to be one of the best RBs in the SEC sooner rather than later in Williams-Thomas.

It truly is silly. Suburban image crap at its finest.

Feel like I saw something about this on one of those "Adam" shows where he deconstructs all of society's nonsense.

Fwiw more power to ya if that's yer thing. To each his own nonsense as I have plenty.

Back when I lived in realllllly rural SC, we had 15 acres. No high speed internet or even a cell signal to this day in that area, but my dad made pseudo pitching mounds, football fields, my brother and I would have “HR Derby’s” with tennis balls (to not destroy the house since the fence was in that direction). I miss living somewhere I could do all that. I hope my kid doesn’t have to grow up in an apartment complex.

More Phil on Vols:

QBs: This unit is much better off in their 2nd year of Heupel's system.

RBs: Return 3 of their top 4 so they are deeper and more experienced than last year. (Seems to think Whitehead is undervalued as well)

WRs: Tillman returns (HUGE NEWS) and they add McCoy. Once again the Vols have three of their top five back and Heupel should produce a 1000 yd WR for the 4th straight year.

OL: Four starters return and they have 91 career starts. UT has 7 OL back with starting experience and in 2nd year of the system.

DL: Two starters return and 8 VHTs (his term for highly touted recruits) in the unit, including Young.

LBs: Vols have 2 starters back and add NB Wesley Walker (13 st LY for GT). Mitchell is back from injury so they are deeper and much more experienced.

DBs: Vols were 114 in Positional Def Rankings in 2020. Vols jumped to 50 last year. This is an experienced secondary and should make another jump in the Positional Defensive Rankings.

ST: SHould be another top 35 unit.

FORECAST:

Offense - Vols had just 21.5 ppg and 346 ypg on offense in 2020. Coach Heupel is known for offense, along with OC Golesh, showed why last year as they jumped to 475 ypg and 39 ppg! It took five games to outscore 2020 squad, which played 10. They set the UT all time scoring record with 511 points! This year eight starters are back and they could be even more potent with a veteran QB, 1000 yd WR, top RB, and a solid OL.

Defense - In 2020 they had 8 starters back but not much went right and they allowed 407 ypg and 30.1 ppg. Last year they had seven starters back and some non conf games and my computer called for them to allow 31.6 ppg and UT improved to 422 ypg and 29.1 ppg. This year 9 of top 12 return and they should be much more of a force with all three groups ranked in my top units in the front of the magazine.

2022 - UT outscored teams in the 1st quarter 190-51 (1st Quarter Boiz!!) but the team was plagued by injuries and blew some 4Q leads. The Vols are -27 in All Conf. points returning. The Vols do draw Alabama (as always) and LSU out of the West but they are in my Top Units in all 8 positions. WIth their potent offense they have a great shot at being Georgia's biggest challenger in the East.

There you have it.

Those last two sentences are HIGH PRAISE by Phil. Landing in his Top Units is not easy and we are in all 8, usually a great sign. We haven't done that since 15 or 16 I don't think.

No offense, but I would resist the urge to turn what the landed aristocracy and new money oligarchs did into an attack on the suburbs.

There is the old joke where someone asks the aristocrat, "How do you make a lawn so beautiful?" He responds, "Mow the grass for 400 years."

Sorry I was busy contemplating suicide. But she said yes so I decided against it.

Steele's Heisman Favorites:
1) CJ Stroud Ohio St
2) Bryce Young Bama
3) Caleb Williams USC
4) Jaxon Smith-Njignba Ohio St
5) Hendon Hooker Tennessee - Hooker took a huge step forward after transferring from VT. Under Heupel, he piloted the fastest offense in the country. He ranked 3rd nationally in passer rating and 4th in YPA. Further improvement in stats and win total could see him vying for the trophy.
