Is there anything to the rumor that that Virginia, North Carolina, Clemson and Florida State are currently in negotiations to join the SEC and that ESPN is working towards trying to get those four schools out of its current TV deal? (I can't see North Carolina not in the same league as Duke, but..)

We should just go with the highest ranking. The service that has someone ranked top25, while others rank in the 100s, has probably done more scouting on that player.
or less scouting on all other players

I don't understand bringing in Virginia. VA Tech makes a lot more sense.

UNC wants the SEC, VT does also. Hearing UVa wants big10. And I live here in SWVA I'm hearing a lot.

saw it on twitter, retweet by barrett salee. but the way it was presented didn't make a ton of sense.

i think the ACC is in trouble. and living in NC, it's been a big topic, and listening to some sports radio around here, it seems there's already at least some level of acceptance that the old tobacco road rivalries may be gone or drastically changed.

the thing that gets talked about some, however, is that some of the schools seem to be a better fit for the Big 10, academics wise, and it gets the Big 10 in markets in the south, so there's some mutual attraction.

for the SEC, the opportunity is to gain markets to expand the Southeast coverage in NC and VA. and there's multiple programs that can do that, for both conferences.

the SEC nor the Big 10 is going to go after and/or take both schools available in VA or FL. there's 4 to divvy up in NC, assuming Wake Forest is in play for either, which i don't think is the case. so that leaves Duke, NCSU and UNC. i think the SEC would probably put UNC, NCSU, Duke in that order. problem is i think the Big 10 would probably be the same.

for FL schools....FSU probably makes the most sense, and that would probably get some support from member institutions b/c it preserves FSU/FL.

Clemson, GT, Miami and whoever's left in NC and VA will be interesting. the big question for me is how far north would the SEC want to go? you go after a Pitt or WVU? to go along with any adds from VA or NC? the big 10 could find itself in FL, GA, NC and/or SC depending. and in today's world, how much value is there in expanding geographic market when you have rock solid brands that will attract viewership regardless of geography? would we not take Clemson just because we already have USCe? or FSU/UM b/c we have Florida? i tend to think not, simply because the branding for those programs could be considered a bigger value add than the geography gains. UNC, UVA, VT provide both geography and branding opportunities, in multiple sports.

anyway...very interesting times ahead, and i hate all of it. but i understand it.

Got plenty of room if we punt candy and Missouri. Neither would be missed.

Wth

Went to see if Sham had an IG he may be committing from (he does not), but what I did run into is an account called bbn_ladies where some creep has gathered a ton of UK women's pictures to post online and tag every single recruit in. Basically some creep behind a keyboard acting as if they're the women and trying to woo recruits...

Wtf Kentucky

Dooley. Still the worst Vol coaching hire ever. By a country mile. Not even debateable.

Screw Mike Hamilton. Smh
Worst hire, yes. Worst coach goes to Butch though.

In fairness though, trying to hire a coach in late January (after signing day I think?) is pretty unprecedented.
