Worst hire, yes. Worst coach goes to Butch though.

In fairness though, trying to hire a coach in late January (after signing day I think?) is pretty unprecedented.

How? Butch won b2b 9 games (at least). And didn't go a full class without a single OL recruit.

Dooley is the worst coach too by any measure. 7-6, 5-7, 5-7 lol. That's the worst percentage. Nobody has been that bad. Reached 33% of bowl games and was 0% winning them. Even Butch was 60% reaching them and was 100% winning them. Not even close unless you just want to make out 2017 as worse than everything else even though dooley won 5 games twice. Butch at least had something resembling a top end.

So how many Edge guys do we plan on taking? Herring is already onboard. Robinson is listed as an Edge, but at his size can easily grow into a DL. We're still pursuing Bradley, Akana, and M'Pemba. Not sure if there are any others on the board.

16-19 for 45.7%, made 1 bowl outta 3 seasons and did win it

15-21 for 41.7% for Dooley and lost his only bowl appearance. That 4-7 was his last year, Chaney won the last game so good chance Dooley likely would have as well. Pruitt could have lost 2 more in that 3-7 season, team basically stopped playing. I think Butch was a better coach than both of them though regardless of how sour things were when he left. Dooley hire was the worst possible timing because of how Lane left though, so not sure we really had a shot to land anyone better. The Pruitt hire was an absolute cluster and 2 ADs were fired because of it.

Its so depressing to think that before Vitello got here...once basketball was done with....there was really nothing to keep me occupied sports wise until football started. It was such a long wait. Now that we have a legit baseball program that can keep us occupied until hopefully june......it feels good to know that football is not that far way

No I don't but I think he would have been able to get someone other than Salvidor Sunseri.

Nothing stopped him from going Sal previously. Not sure what would have forbade him from going that route if Wilcox had stayed on for a couple more. We had 5 wins in Wilcox's final season. I don't see him as the savior you do.

Robinson is definitely DL. He's already 270+. I think Bradley and Walker are the most likely adds there. So I'd say 3. Although Walker looks to have the frame to be a full-time DE at some point.
