In nature there are no alpha wolves. Subsequent studies have only observed that behavior in captivity (which is where the 1947 study occurred.) The philosophical question then becomes, "how much of an alpha can you be if you aren't even free?"

I do remember that. But iirc they exist in some species. Could be wrong, but I believe in apes.

Either way, mostly a silly and grossly misused concept, especially when trying to apply to humans. As if the members of a community should fight physically to determine who should lead a group in what are mostly intellectual endavors in the human experience.

I came in from work this evening and picked some green beans, a few tomatoes and several pods of hot pepper. Got the wife to cook them and make a pan of cornbread, fried some chicken. There’s nothing better imo, all that hard work is paying off. Still waiting on the corn to come in.

That sounds like a fine meal. We are up to 50 quarts of tomatoes and tomato juice and have already processed about 17 doz ears of corn. Oh and 13 quarts of green beans so far.

Thats awesome, I planted mine a little later than I should’ve. It’s slowly but surely coming in though. I’m planning on trying to can as much as I can. I’ve got loads of green tomatoes, they’re slow to turn for me it seems

We planted 10 Cherokee Purple, 10 Pink Girl, 12 Big Boy and 12 better Boy. Ours have all seemed to come in about the same time and I've actually weighed a few of our CP's that weighed over 2 lbs apiece!

I saw one of those fluffy cows standing in the middle of the road on my way home a few years ago. I waited until he decided to move out of the way. There was a zero percent chance of me leaving the truck to counsel him on proper road etiquette.
