I do remember that. But iirc they exist in some species. Could be wrong, but I believe in apes.In nature there are no alpha wolves. Subsequent studies have only observed that behavior in captivity (which is where the 1947 study occurred.) The philosophical question then becomes, "how much of an alpha can you be if you aren't even free?"
Either way, mostly a silly and grossly misused concept, especially when trying to apply to humans. As if the members of a community should fight physically to determine who should lead a group in what are mostly intellectual endavors in the human experience.
