From Andy Staples - someone asked him what programs outside of this era's elite that have the best chance to supplant the elite in the recruiting rankings. He said USC, Florida, ND, Tennessee, Miami.

Hesitant on Tennessee, but Vols were so far ahead on the NIL front, and are a "desperate fanbase." Their head start could accelerate their rebuild, and if they capitalize they could be elite again soon.

Went on to say that he would give Heupel 15% credit for what Vols are doing in recruiting right now, with the majority of success being owed to our NIL.

I hate agreeing with a dang stinking dirty dawg. . . but I do. These guys seem like they've forgotten that the players who left were once freshmen, working to get playing time. They act like no other players are gonna step up or they're too lazy to do a little team analysis and pinpoint which players are likely to take the open spot.
Ya, actually a really solid post by @DawgInterloper ,it's true that it's cheap lazy journalism to just say what a team lost.

We heard from day 1 that Heupel wasn’t a great recruiter so I’m not shocked if that’s the case

I do this too (not expecting to get paid for my opinion), but talking about who a team lost is the lowest form of analysis. You see it in almost every two-bit article, but any slug with internet access knows who they lost. It's a lot more difficult, and a lot more relevant, to analyze who teams have coming back. Those are the players who will decide the outcomes this season.
This isn't bad analysis. It's not likely they get what they got out of Robinson and Ali with the guys they have now. With a new OC no less. Especially Robinson, without him they weren't crap on offense. They just don't have a lot of dynamic athletes and they lost their only one.

For fun:

Over under 5 stars in this class (on at least 1 service) at 4.5… I’ll take the over.
Under. Way under. The last time we had five 5*s in a class was in 2000. 22 years ago, one season removed from a national title.

Since then, the most we’ve gotten in a season is 3… once.

We got 2 in a single class only twice.

The rest? One or none.

Just visited my living grandmother who also has Alzheimer’s. It’s brutal. Many of you know
I'm very sorry to hear you going through that. I was raised by my grandmother and saw her succumb to Alzheimer's and it's so hard to see themin that state. You're not asking for advice, but as someone who was there for mine in the final years, I'll say this:
1. Play their favorite music for them. Something happens where happy memories are triggered by songs that are important to them
2. Just listen, and when they get confused or call you by the wrong name or can't remember details, try not to correct them as it can really affect their psyche/ self esteem. Just roll with it and enjoy the moments you guys have together. God bless you.

Whatever A&M is doing, Texas will do it twice as big. We have created a monster. When those two are in the same conference again the bitching, whining, and arms race will be endless. In this climate it will go super-nova and they will likely do what the Mississippi and Alabama schools have done in the past and turn one another in. It's going to be nasty.

But that's just it, turn each other in for what? There are no rules right now.You right, we've now had two of the schools that helped kill the Southwest Conference in the SEC now. If there were rules, the Texas schools donor would start cheating and then turn each other in. Not a big fan of Texas "culture" anyway.

"My favorite place in Texas is right in the middle, that way no matter which way I go, I'm leaving Texas." Jerry Jeff Walker.

That is a great quote!

How did Texas and ATM kill the SWC? Do you think that being a conference located almost entirely in one state (with one additional small market team) in an age where television revenue became the driving force for economic success might have had something to do with it? Did OU and Nebraska “kill” the Big 8?

In a way we have kind of gone back to hard drives not existing. SSDs are technically not the same thing. Hard drives had spinners - yay! SSDs are all flash. SATA used to be an interface for a traditional HDD but now it's also shorthand for a type of SSD. What's confusing about that? I certainly never got confused by it. ;)

I once went on a trip with a purchasing guy to the Minneapolis area which was apparently the hub for US HDD manufacturing. We visited at least 3 different companies looking for forward looks on their technologies as well as inquiring about some modifications some guys with pocket protectors in our company wanted to have incorporated into the products with proprietary protections. For the life of me I cannot call a single name of those places.

I have gone low tech in my old age... Email, some web browsing and these boards work ok on my own $130 dollar Lenovo from an as long as they last last circular from Best Buy three or so years ago. Just have one directional key cap that does not want to stay in place. Glad all my grandkids can provide guidance now for computers and phones. Even the 9 year old.

Chapter 1 of when someone sips too much of that orange cool aid, mentions its only this month and we can flip this person or that. Chapter 2 is two or three star kids go to the NFL without comprehending the reality that it's a much smaller percentage of those who go. I can play this game too.
You know you have a problem when the only person liking your post is believetheheup!
Not very good company..

The latest 12th gen Intel chips are actually pretty good, comparatively (for a desktop pc anyway). But prior to that AMD's Ryzen chips definitely had the advantage.
I have a Ryzen 3600 with 32GB 3200Mhz RAM, 2TB Nvme SSD. Love what AMD has done with the Zen cores. especially tbe VCache packaging. Although, I’m a bit biased, I worked for AMD in the early 2000’s and have a soft spot for them.
