Personally I like that we switch up the Power 5 team we regular schedule in our OOC slate.

I also don't have any problem with playing a Non-Major (especially in state) school as well. Most the time that one game is a large enough check for those schools to meet their AD budget for the entire year. So if TTU, TSU, UT-Martin, Chattanooga, Austin Peay or any other smaller school in state wanna come to Neyland then I am for it.

The biggest difference between how Stoops schedules his OOC and how we do ours is he basically has Louisville locked in for their P5 school. So those other 3 games are cherry picking the potential worst teams he can face.

2021 - UL Monroe (4-8), New Mexico State (2-10)
2019 - Toledo (6-6), Eastern Michigan (6-7)
2018 - Central Michigan (1-11), MTSU (8-6)
2017 - at Southern Miss (8-5), Eastern Michigan (5-7)
2016 - Southern Miss (7-6), New Mexico State (3-9)
2015 - Louisiana (4-8), Charlotte (2-10)
2014 - Ohio (6-6), UL Monroe (4-8)
2013 - Western KY (8-4), Miami OH (0-12)

That's since Stoops took over, left off Louisville and the Non-Majors. He had to play away just once against Southern Miss. And in those seasons only 4 opponents finished above 500 and twice it was Southern Miss (who he now refuses to play).

This is where there is a misunderstanding.

I’m very much pro-UT. I love Heup and I love our recruiting and I’m freaking pumped for the season.

Things I am anti:

- fake insiders
- bashing recruits who choose another school
- the UK bball fan mentality where every other program is cheating, their players suck, and everything about them is horse poop

Me pointing out easily researchable facts like “hey we also schedule 3 laughable cupcakes every year” isn’t being anti-UT.

Who'd they schedule in the past decade that equates to Oklahoma, Oregon or even Pitt? While we're balancing...

You do realize Marco is the guy that complained that we didn't count Kentucky as a toss-up yesterday, and created the ability to finger waggle at us by redefining "toss-up" as anything north of "guaranteed win"... Right? Literally, he argued with us because we counted ourselves as favored in that game.

Bit OT, but just about toss-ups and guaranteed wins imo. I see it (maybe a bit opposite of FPI and we'll see about Vegas) as a 60-40 game, in our favor.

I view "toss ups" similar to poker terms...anything between 40 and 60% win probability is close enough to a coinflip.

Otoh I'd put USCjr at 65-70%. Mizzou at 75-80%. Not toss-ups imo. But not guarantees either. Guarantees should be...Ball St. 95%+. Generational chance of losing. And we already used that up on Ga St, soo...our kids will have to wait on their '96 Memphis

I read yesterday’s and today’s conversations completely. Still not sure why you’re acting like a KY fan trying to defend their honor. I answered why KY would have had at least 1 more loss if not 2 every year if their schedule was the same as ours. So did several others. No one said you hate UT. They asked why you love KY???

We sometimes schedule 3 cupcakes OOC. But I guess cupcake is subjective too.

Last year...yeah we played 3 cupcakes
2019 though all 3 of our non-major OOC opponents finished above 500 (so not cupcakes)
2017 GA Tech shouldn't have been a cupcake (had won 9 games year previous) and Southern Miss wasn't a cupcake
2016 all 3 of our OOC opponents finished above 500, 2 of them finished with 10 wins so not cupcakes
2015 2 of our OOC opponents finished with 10 wins
2014 all 3 of our OOC opponents finished above 500 and Utah State finished with 10 wins
2013 2 of our OOC opponents finished above 500 and Oregon won 11 games

It seems like you’re on a mission to make sure everyone on a fan site also wants to discuss “college football” instead of wanting to be fans because you don’t just make an observation and let it go. You get highly offended when others explain why you’re observation sounds like a fan from the other team would make to defend their team. You really can’t see why KY schedule has lead to more wins and should be criticized as taking the easy way out? Or are you just trying to find anything you can to point out something to argue about to prove you’re a good college football fan? We’re trying to enjoy the preseason where we win them all and rivals lose them all.
