His biggest issue is that he was , is, and always will be a tremendous douche.
He schemed to “be competitive and keep the game close” against the gators in order to set up the dawgs? If he actually gave a sheet about Tennessee and was truly a gifted offensive mind, he could have had a successful scheme for the gators and a different scheme for the dawgs. He didn’t think he could beat the gators, so just played it for a close loss. Who in the frick thinks that was a good idea? I wish that he was never considered for a position at Tennessee and that we would only discuss him when Tennessee plays a team that he coaches in the current season.

End rant 😈

I propse that when TENNESSEE’s record at the end of this season is 15-0 🤠

That his blemish is stricken from our history and is never spoken again. Deal?

I could be wrong about how that played out, but as I watched that Florida game it seemed like Kiffin just wouldn't give his offense a chance, even late in the game when there was nothing to lose. Whether he didn't have confidence at that time, or was saving something for Georgia is obviously speculation on my part. But I felt certain that we would see something very different in Athens and that's what happened. After the Georgia game I recall he made a statement about beating Georgia going forward, which sort of supported my idea that he had held something back.

I was very interested in the Hendon Hooker video. This young man is a leader. We talk about Stars and who has what but having leaders is also what wins. It only takes ONE true leader to influence a team for years and it is a pleasure and relief to know from this one video that we have ONE for sure and I would wager there are several more taking his lead.........as a LEADER !!!!

You either trust the coaches or you don’t….. they know what they need to keep us growing…. A true freshman corner is not going to play this year more than likely so you basically have two years to add transfers/jucos if you feel like the depth is not there at a particular position. We don’t know if any of these recruits will be quality players… Look at all the high rated players that Pruitt missed on…. If these coaches are as poor at their evaluations than they will not succeed here… trust them until they show that we shouldn’t.
lol
I trust the coaches; I don't trust the portal. Josh Heupel doesn't know who will or will not be in the portal after this season. My statement has nothing to do with "trusting the coaches". It's impossible for anyone to know with certainty who will enter the portal. So, you can't just assume quality players at the positions we need will be there. That was the point of my post. It had nothing to do with "trusting coaches".

I’m saying that the coaches have a plan and know what numbers and who they feel like they need… they will also have a really good idea of who they are bringing in through the portal before they are even in the portal. Right now…. We are recruiting more than good enough to stake our claim as a second tier team right behind the Georgia’s and Alabamas…. Demonstrate that we are capable of being that team and being extremely exciting and it will lead to us taking a step toward being a tier one team.

Tennessee does not have the recruiting talent in our state to be like some of the others…. It’s a growth process and we are well ahead of where we should be at this time. We have the facilities, closeness to high level recruits, and history to be on top again

Rant -

Man, this really sucks.

No practice today. And no, film room and workouts don’t count. It’s not the same and everybody knows it. jmo.

Brian Rice said we’re back on the practice field Saturday and Sunday we’re in full pads – BUT NO MEDIA. What? How come not? What the heck is Fingers supposed to report on? This is utterly ridiculous. One might reasonably think (eye roll) we were working on some super-secret Manhattan Project. What? Are we planning to nuke all of our opponents this year? smh

Seriously. When you’re retired there’s not really a lot you have to do outside of football. Think of the children, won’t somebody? This day and age we live in. smh.

I guess I could go through our starting lineup one more time to see how things might be shaping up.

QB – A+ (I like all 3 of our QBs)
RB – B+ (I think Small is very good but if Sampson was ready to start this would be A+)
XWR – A+ (wistfully assumes Tillman comes back for one more year)
ZWR – B (Assumes Keyton gets the start at the beginning of the year)
Slot WR – B+ (I think Hyatt is really good; if he can learn to run like Calloway he’d be A+)
TE – B (Warren is maybe the most underrated TE in the conference)
LT – TBD (Do or die battle for this position and yielding is not an option. Whoever lives gets the nod)
LG – A+ (Jerome Carvin will be drafted next year if Cooper Mays can stay healthy this year)
OC – A- (Cooper says he’s stronger and should be able to stay healthy all year. He’ll get a bump if true)
RG – A (Spraggins is the most unheralded guy on our OL plus the story of him destroying the dark lord)
RT – A+ (first round draft pick next year unless Spyre convinces him to run it back one more time)

SDE – A+ (Finally our Baron has assumed the throne and will rule against our adversaries in all matters)
1T – A (Big O is stronger than an Abrams tank and will be far more destructive in battle this year)
3T – TBD (We’ve developed a Jason Bourne type for this spot. When ready, Bryson Eason is his name)
WDE – A+ (If Spyre is awash in funds we need this guy back next year. Make it happen Will)
MLB – A (This is our most dangerous weapon. Use with care as collateral damage may be unavoidable)
WLB – A- (Claimed to be notorious. Ruthless doesn’t begin to describe his ferocity)
NB – TBD (Our last guy here went to heaven. All heroes go to heaven. We’re looking for a new hero)
LCB – TBD (If Kid Charlemagne gets this spot I call dibs on printing the t-shirts)
RCB – B (A case of age discrimination but in business older people value experience above all else)
SS – B (Ditto to the age discrimination but this may work out as modifications have been made)
FS – A- (The guy is the leader of the unit. We live or die with him. It’s just the way it is)

P – A+ (In the 1980 Superman movie Clark punts a football into orbit. I watch Paxton and I’m reminded)
PK – A+ (Will one day have his own TV show. Chase McGrath, Private Eye. Good guys always win)
KO – A- (My argument is when Toby gets it through the uprights he should get the 3 points)
PR – TBD (Here hands are more important than feet. See Velus Jones vs Ole Miss last year)
KR – TBD (We will win the TV ratings as many tens of millions tune in to catch a glimpse of our flying squirrel)
