We desperately need to get lucky on a QB recruit. We need someone who can make all the throws and can at least be a threat to run. Do that and we will take the next major step forward. Don’t do it and the rebuild is over.

I’m so faded that I convinced myself that we need to put Jimmy Calloway at QB. He played there in HS and has hella running ability.

Let’s get Lamar 2.0 bby

But did we win? That's the most important thing. Just win. Don't care how. Seen this happen for 10+ years. Just. Win. And they didn't.
Step by step. First one is to not look like a **** sandwich while losing. Game over midway through the first quarter was not a fond memory. Now we're down to fourth down calls in the fourth...baby step.

I hope we take 6 more guys and use the rest of the spots on transfers.

We are losing a ton on both sides after this season. Going to need some instant impact dudes.

Rucker and Charles both caught my eye yesterday. Hope they have bright futures here.

As for the game yesterday, I’m starting to get over it.

Like everyone else has said, can’t knock the guys for fighting their asses off yesterday. Love seeing that. It just sucks because we have a capable coach with capable players, but we need a QB, I haven’t seen any other team in the country that has problems at the position like we do, it’s wild.

For those who have been trashing Heupel, he gets a pass this year. Once he gets his QB here, then I’ll start to judge if he can make it or not, but right now I see a guy that enjoys being here, takes pride in it, doesn’t give any BS or ****** slogans, and is trying to make UT football fun again. That’s the most important thing that’s been missing. At the end of the day at least he is showing more promise than Butch or Pruitt ever did. Yes, the recruiting is and will probably continue to be meh, but after two games I’ve seen an offense and defense better, and more exciting to watch then what those other two fielded.

We can agree to disagree on this.

Lastly, and I’m not being 100% serious, but if Heupel doesn’t make it, then we should hire Kevin Kelley. He always goes for 2, always onsides, and never punts. He coaches at Presbyterian College and has won his last two games in his first season, 84-43, and 68-3. His high school record: Kelley's players and teams have broken 15 national high school football records, with the Bruins compiling a 216-29-1 mark in 18 seasons.

I think it’s crazy the same people that said we were going to get drug by Pitt (which we didn’t) are the same ones saying we suck lol 😂

We should have won that game and we didn’t our guys played hard. I think we out played expectations.
Ironic huh? Almost like they can't see past their agenda.

You’re comparing him to all time greats because he had one blocked punt?
Once upon a time they got their start on ST…so yeah. I remember saying something similar about JRM and one of your sage ancestors similarly called me out. I said “vibe”…not doing a case study. 😏

Milton is not good. Watch his film at Michigan and now. He is still darting short throws and overthrowing the deep ball. He is who he is. If we keep playing Milton, we lose to Pitt by 2+ TDs. If we played Hooker all game, we win. Milton caused us to not be up 21-0. He is an athlete trying to play QB. People are wrapped up in his measurable instead of looking at how he is as a QB. He was 7-12 for 50 yards against Pitt. And 11-23 for 140 yards against a bad BG team. If we think he is the answer, we are in deep trouble.

Well, some other VFL's do think the WR are a part of the issue as well. Not getting to the right spot when they should. Time will tell. We will beat TN Tech regardless of the QB and will lose to Florida more than likely unless Milton can the WR's can actually figure out how to connect on the long ball. It's going to take that to win. We will not be able to drive the field with Hooker at QB against Florida. Not saying Milton is going to get it done but he's really the only chance to beat teams in the SEC not named Vandy or SC.

I'm still positive after yesterday. We were not given any "gifts" yesterday like some are saying. Anything we got, we earned. Pitt on the other hand was handed multiple gifts by the refs alone. We then handed them gifts in absurd penalties.

Saying this offense is weak is foolish. From 2019 through this year only 4 teams have put over 34 points on Pitt. One was Clemson, one was Notre Dame, and 2 were from Heupel (UCF and UT).

We went against a very dominant defense yesterday, killed ourselves in penalties, sub par QB play, they had the refs wiping their A** for them, we were projected to lose by everyone that matters, had a 3-0 turnover deficit, we lacked some of our best impact players, Pitt made almost no mistakes, and despite practically handing them the game we took it to the wire and put 34 points on the board.

If our players execute like a highly seasoned Pitt team loaded with super seniors, that game is a blowout in our favor.

We may have lost, but there is a lot to look forward to. Some of y'all need to chill out.
A common sense post that most will never believe :):):). LOM's are everywhere :cool:
