With cord-cutting cable viewership is down as a whole. I'm sure there's a token amount of people who actually boycotted the NFL over the protesting, but there's other reasons that influenced viewership more IMO

I don't think the viewership is down just because of boycotting. There's a lot of people who have been turned off by it and don't have to make a conscious decision to not watch. I would fall into that category.

I only watch for fantasy football otherwise it's boring compared to college

I quit watching the NFL when I left Tennessee. I got to watch 3 or 4 Titans games every year but basically all Volunteer games. So I just dropped the NFL since I couldn't really follow the Titans.

Is it the only league in the world that makes a conscience effort to ensure fans can't watch the games they want to watch?

Well there's another side to that coin. I live in Tennessee and I don't want to be force fed the Titans.

Well boys, I've officially started the downward trend in life. Nothing but getting closer to meeting my maker from this point. I turned 30 today and now I will grunt more often, read the paper, get mad at children in my yard and say whatever I want in mixed company. I'm old now.

And piss will start to drip down your leg no matter how many times you shake it. No one ever warns you about that one. Welcome to your 30s.

That's fair, but I would classify that as an NFL not being entertaining enough problem. Especially this year, the national SNF football matchups as a whole were terrible. And Thursday Night Football is always an inferior product when teams are coming off a short week.

How are you doing health wise my friend? I know you were in some tense moments for a bit.

I go back to the doctor Monday. Starting to get a dull pain in the same area. I don’t know if it’s from work or not. But, otherwise I’m doing great. Thanks for asking!

What in the world is wrong with you?

j/k. . .

I haven't really watched pros in years. It seems like they aren't even trying half the time.

That token number may be a lot larger than you may think.

The kneeling thing is a turnoff.

Another example of this is gonna happen in the NBA. This tmz style coverage of Lavar Ball and Lebron James and his antics will get old. I think there's a lot of young people who like the drama. After a while though it hurts your product.

When the actual game isn't what you are selling eventually people will tire of it.

I think people are fatigued with 24/7/365 NFL coverage as well.

Yep. I remember when the Titans came in when we lost a game a week because they wouldn't air any game opposite the Titans. We went from watching the two best games of the week in the 12:00 time slot to watching the Titans no matter how bad them or their opponent is.

The cities that get to watch the best NFL games are the ones without a team.

No doubt, but there is a large, large percentage of folks who have quit watching because of the protests. Larger than many may think.

For sure. I would just about guarantee that half of the 10% drop is due at least in part to people turned off because of the protests.

Like I said above, it's sometimes not even a conscious decision. It's just a turnoff. Lots of people don't want politics mixed with their sports. Sports are an escape for many.

It’s astounding to me that people try to deny this happening.
