Nah nah nah. I'm exited about the direction that I think this program is headed under Fulmer and Pruitt. Very excited. I'm just disappointed in how this class turned out. That's it.

That's your fault for thinking Pruitt would come in and sign all these elite guys year 1.

Sounds like you can't handle the truth, Venner

The truth is that it is disappointing to miss on Quay Walker. The problem is that you have to rub people's face in it when their optimistic picks are wrong. I got no problem with the truth. I just got a problem with people running down other posters who bring a lot of information to the board. I am glad that you are optimistic about Pruitt. You should actually act like it a little more.

All of UGA's class might not qualify. They'll have it to 25/85 by the start of fall camp.

What are they going to do if everyone qualifies? Someone will get released from his LOI. Wonder if these kids realize this? Didn’t know you could sign potential non-qualifiers, and then if they don’t qualify, they don’t count against the class.

The big picture is that this staff, widely known for its recruiting prowess, was working with a short window due to the implementation of the early signing period as well as dealing with a program coming off of an 0-8 conference record. Is it such a bad thing to have realistic expectations when working against those odds? The biggest problem with fans today is the need for instant results, which in this case is NSD 2018.

Sorry we couldn't pull of an Ole Miss / Hugh Freeze year 0 for you.

I'm not implying we should be recruiting at Georgia/Alabama level I'm just relaying the facts of how are situation is. If we wanted to close the gap we had to get players like Griffin, walker, and ITS.

People talk about next year and how strong we will be in recruiting. If we have another crappy year opposing coaches are going to use this to out recruit them again. Most of these kids want to go to winners and sadly we are not there. If we have a good/great year we could see a monster year in recruiting. Its easy to be a top recruiter when you're on championship teams year in year out. What's it going to be like when you're not a winner? We shall see

Well then again, if that’s your line of thinking, we should get nice and comfy right where we are at.

How? I mean what’s the last thing these kids watched? Georgia vs Bama in one of the best Natty games ever. You don’t think Kirby is telling them they can overtake Bama with them on the team?

I still thought signing 25 meant signing 25. What's to stop Kirby from cutting guys loose who he does not think will help them now? I thought that was what the 25 cap was supposed to prevent.

Now I remember why I dropped off the board for about 6 months...

I'm thinking similarly. I dropped out after the '16 regular season for a long time.

It's not even being pessimistic that bothers me. I'm pretty pessimistic these days.

It's the ones who take their pessimism and rub it in other fans' faces when their pessimism pans out.

I agree to an extent, but is it that hard to fathom that he simply chose a currently successful program over one that is entering another rebuilding stage?

These kids want to play, sure, but they also want to win. They want the fame. They want to be on the big stage. These situations are not much different from wondering why a recruit would chose Bama over UT. Look at the state of the programs.

Not hard to fathom at all, but these aren’t the cyclical days of the SEC of several years ago. The programs with that success are signing blue chips left and right, and truly reloading. With the instant gratification philosophy, there is less ebb and flow then there used to be, so you’ve got to win the battles you are more set up to win like Walker. You get to the top, and you kinda have it made. Hopefully next year’s class will be the first to where we are actually making up ground.

I'm simply stating that those expectations to land players of that caliber isn't very realistic given the situation (early signing period, 0-8 conference record, etc.).

We are in the same situation as any program rebuilding. Your first priority is to have success on the field. Maybe if we start to win a game here or there that we aren't supposed to, our fortunes will change.

If we take one game out of the UF, UGA, Auburn, Bama stretch, that would be a solid start. Ideally, we need to win the rest.

SIAP. Just a drive by thought -- Is some of the failure today attributable to Pruitt and Sheerer finishing things out at their former jobs instead of being fully committed to their current jobs?

I think it stinks. That said, everyone is set on giving a mulligan this year, so I guess I'll just grin and bare it. If it looks like this next year we're in big, big trouble.

No. Recruits seeing those coaches coach on the playoff stage should have helped our recruiting, IMO.

IDGAF if we lose out on these people. We're getting kids who literally bleed orange. One commits without visiting campus. One straight up proclaims he will literally give his all for Tennessee. Yet all I see are pieces of S*** complaining we didn't get someone. All of you have absolutely NO RIGHT to celebrate with this team during the good time if you can't celebrate with them during the bad times.

Yeah I think it should have helped too -- and it probably did in some ways. But I can't help but think, especially in hindsight, that if those hours spent by both on game planning for Clemson, Oklahoma and then on each other, could have been better spent evaluating and recruiting.

We'll obviously never know. Just thought it was worth discussing given the current situation.
