Georgia just signed four star wide receiver Tommy Bush.

This is insanity.

Crazy. It's hard not to think there is all kinds of dirty shiz going on here. I can see a few 5 stars filled out with some 4 stars, but what is happening now is nuts.

Freak out all you want, but Pruitt has been quietly positioning us to perform in 2019 like UGA is in 2018. The 19' class has always been exponentially more important to Tennessee than the 18' class. Would it be great to get some of these players? Of course, but as long as we still land JJ, I think we're good

Let's see what Pruitt can do with players who want to represent Tennessee. We've waited a long time. We can wait longer with a real coach leading.

The big picture is that this staff, widely known for its recruiting prowess, was working with a short window due to the implementation of the early signing period as well as dealing with a program coming off of an 0-8 conference record. Is it such a bad thing to have realistic expectations when working against those odds? The biggest problem with fans today is the need for instant results, which in this case is NSD 2018.

Sorry we couldn't pull of an Ole Miss / Hugh Freeze year 0 for you.

It does ring a bit hollow when we have an army of recruiters that apparently had the best relationship with Quay Walker, and he goes else where. I’d expect to get in on him given those personal relationships, but the fact that they didn’t close is a bit of a red flag.

JJ and Young would make this class a win

No but if you look at what the other schools have gained today and what we are looking at that 0-8 is looking like the norm. Yes you need great coaching but you also need elite talent. It is not usual for schools in p5 conferences to out coach the talent. As the best hire we could have made with Pruitt I don't think he is going to break that change. This is one of the worst classes since Doofus. Gotta look at the big picture of what everyone did today not just us.

What am I missing? Do you honestly expect an elite year next year?

We have talent to win 6+ games next year, and that would be improvement. Our coaching was terrible last year. All I care about is improvement. I just don't understand this line of thinking.

Not really. With the talent in that state, I'd say that program is finally starting to meet expectations. Hopefully, for UT's sake, their period of success won't last that long.

Facts aren't appreciated around here. We'd rather hang out and pretend like it's all pie in the sky baby.

Lol. Not long ago you were talking about how Pruitt will win championships here and how unlike Butch he actually recruits and signs elite recruits🤔🤔

Not really when both programs you were going against were in the Natty game. And our head coach hasn’t coached a game on the field yet. Comes with the territory

I don't understand how that is possible. IF they have signed I don't see how that with the hard cap if 25 now how they are going to get around it.

I have no idea. If they sign more than their alottment, I think you have to forfeit two scholarships for every 1 oversign. I am betting that we are just misinterpreting the rules and blue shirt, grey shirt, and backcounting are still possible.

Nah nah nah. I'm exited about the direction that I think this program is headed under Fulmer and Pruitt. Very excited. I'm just disappointed in how this class turned out. That's it.

Aight then. Take it easy on Ron. There's nothing wrong with being irrationally optimistic about the school your root for.

To me we have way too many calling it early and way too many others defending Pruitt at all costs.

I wanted Pruitt and was a huge homer and thought he could deliver a solid class on year 0. If today continues then this will be a strike (Obviously this isn't saying he should be fired or even hot seated) against him.

But it is 1230 guys come on, give him a chance. If at 9 PM tonight, it looks similar then that will be the time to criticize, but do we have no rational people?

I swear this base is split 50/50 between Sunshine pumpers and Negavols.

I trust all our staffs opinion of an athlete over Brent Hubbs. Hubbs also said Barnett could become a decent pass rusher eventually at UT when he signed here.

Stop paying so much attention to stars. I’m not gonna list off all the NFL players that were 2 and 3 stars.

I am guessing, but reading between the lines, seems that Pruitt is all business (watching tapes, showing classes, et) and maybe not so much fun as some of these other schools. If that means we get the more serious Trey Smith, Dobbs, Sutton and Barnett types, then so be it.

I just know I witnessed kids saying that he was the best coach they ever had. I never heard anyone say that about Butch.

Anyway, we'll see how it goes but I certainly am not going to jump off the ledge over a coach's recruiting class who has only been here two months.

I agree to an extent, but is it that hard to fathom that he simply chose a currently successful program over one that is entering another rebuilding stage?

These kids want to play, sure, but they also want to win. They want the fame. They want to be on the big stage. These situations are not much different from wondering why a recruit would chose Bama over UT. Look at the state of the programs.
