Dooley's first class finished 9th on Rivals.
Butch finished 21st
Pruitt likely 21st or worse unless there is a shocker to end the day.

Agreed. Let's all untwist our knickers and let the guy who players love to play for do his thing.

Had a current sec assistant tell me one time that in a class you hope for:

1-2 stars or diamonds in the rough
3 capable of starting as Freshman
5 than can produce on either side

And the rest depth/development or special teams.

I think we got that this year. Rankings aside.

After the Gruden debacle, AtlantaVol declaring Walker as a Vol a week ago, and JAllen suggesting we’re getting Campbell and Griffin..... I am never ever ever ever ever putting any stock into anyone proclaiming to be a sourced up message board guy.

AtlantaVol is legit, but you can never 100% believe anything about a recruit until you hear it from that recruit.

For sure. He may have aimed a bit too high for our current situation as well, but those were the kids he had the relationships with, so what can you do?

AtlantaVol is legit, but you can never 100% believe anything about a recruit until you hear it from that recruit.

At the risk of sounding pedantic, I don't think you can believe anything until the recruit has signed a legally binding document.

At this point, UT has signed 5 today: LB JJ Peterson, S Trevon Flowers, DE John Mincey, WR Cedric Tillman, CB-WR Joseph Norwood. Rivals has Tillman and Norwood as 2-stars. Tillman was considering walking on. Norwood was going to sign with MTSU. DB Brandon Davis to sign soon

Absolutely.
Waiting so long to fire Butch Jones put us behind the 8 ball in nearly every aspect of finding a coach and recruiting.

Met, not exceed or disappoint. I like the guys that we signed. Quay would've been nice. Young too. Still have a chance with ITS. Not great or terrible.

I’m slightly disappointed but only because my expectations had been raised over the last few weeks with all of the top guys that we were supposedly leading for.

I reckon it's considered trolling whenever someone says something they don't want to hear. Kinda like whenever Hubbs comes out with something negative. People then start crapping on his work and dropping "steele" jokes. But whenever he comes out with something positive, it's "oh, Hubbs is always money! GBO!!"

Pruitt has to improve the on field situation this year and then kids will buy in next class. Right now, all the kids see is the disaster of a coaching search we had and a prior 4-8 season. Hard to land a huge recruiting class after that, no matter how good of recruiters you are. Truth is, I may have raised my expectations of this class based on some of the big fish we were after and some of the positive reviews we were getting to start, but I am also not dissapointed with how it ended up. Those big fish may not have signed this year but that won’t stop Pruitt from trying next year, and I think Pruitt will show the improvements on the field and recruits really well next class. For now, I’m glad we got some of the players we did and I’m excited to see what he can do with the players we already have that Butch couldn’t coach up.

Pruitt could have used more time but if things didn't play out like they did we would still have Currie as AD and some cheap show as our coach. CJP has good tools to work with and picked up some good additions in this class. We have zero idea what the product will look lime on the field but all our coaches are proven to be top developers. I'm satisfied with today so far and plan to enjoy the off season with zero expectations. Next season could be anything but I think it will be much better than last year.

Disappoint. I mean come on, let’s be real. Losing Quay and Young at the 11th hour was brutal. Hopefully the staff learns and adjusts.

Some people think it's just kids being kids or "having fun with it." I'd be pretty disappointed with my kids if they did something like that.

I don't think it's any kind of huge deal. I just think you should strive to carry yourself better.
