I also think that once you've decided, your brain filters out the sounds it thinks are extraneous. If I wait a while before I listen again, I can hear both names on the first play, but any further plays and I just hear "Laurel."

I agree that the calls were bad. You still don't know how the game would have played out. I agree that the Braves would likely have won, but this is not the first nor the last time it has happened and I guarantee you before the end of the year, the Braves will get breaks like this one in a game and win one they should not have.

There’s a lot we can talk about and this was all off the top of my head. I understand some offtopic, but when Tennessee becomes the offtopic conversation that’s when this thread is the worst at least in my opinion.

Peerless Price in the Natty on offense. Travis Stephens vs Florida in 2001. Casey Clausen vs Michigan in 2001 as well.

Al Wilson vs Florida on defense. Derek Barnett vs Florida was insane as well.

Tennessee Vols football Freshman Focus: Jordan Allen

Rumph gave no quarter with his outside linebackers this spring and made them do push-ups and up-downs if they failed to meet his standard in drills.

If there was a counter for those two punishments, Allen and Austin Smith probably would have led the pack.

But coaches aren't hard on players they don't think have the potential to be difference-makers, so that shouldn't be considered a negative for Allen. The Vols are in dire need of disruptive presences off the edge, and if Allen ultimately can provide that, he's going to play a role for this team. This spring, though, was about adjusting, a natural part of the process for junior college players.

Tennessee needs real difference-makers on defense if they are going to improve enough for a real uptick in the win column. They need game-changing players like Derek Barnett, Jalen Reeves-Maybin or Rashaan Gaulden. The Vols have some players with that kind of potential, but they need to take the next step.

Allen would appear to have that potential. A staff with the caliber of defensive coaches like Tennessee's has high hopes for him. Rumph being so hard on Allen this spring also suggests he could be a good player.

How quickly can Allen tap into his potential?

Friend asked me to help her grill some steaks yesterday. NY strips. Got over there and found out it was one of those pellet grills. Never used one before. Decided to reverse sear which I had also never tried before. Couple thoughts. Pellet grills are almost too easy. It's like cheating. Haha. And secondly, the steaks turned out amazing. The reverse sear took a lot longer than I'm used to but we had to wait on the seafood boil anyway so I decided to go for it. So good. Will have to try it with charcoal next.

Reverse sear is fantastic. Best way to cook very thick steaks, IMO.

I've got a Traeger pellet grill myself and love it. I'm having an issue, though, getting it to high temps. I think it's a problem with the Traeger.

Wish I could get it to the high temps but I still enjoy it for other recipes, etc.
