Nah. They were playing it on local radio here and having people call in to say what they heard. They sped it up and slowed it down and it would change what people would hear. Its got to do with the amount of bass being played and how you hear different frequencies or something like that.
They just blatantly stole the game from us. Absolutely ridiculous.
Who played the best game youve ever seen as a Tennessee fan? I am youngish, so mine is Kamaras performance against Texas A&M. I know we lost that game, but man what a game he played for us in that one. (I may or may not be trying to lead us away from basketball, not that I hate basketball but a month of Jordan versus Bron is enough.)
Lets talk about the Vols a little more.
What will be our shortcomings this year?
Who wins the QB job in fall camp?
Who is the starting running back because Pruitt certainly never truly seemed happy with any of the RBs.
Who on the defense will step forward and lead this unit this fall? Leader in sacks? Interceptions? Tackles?
Can Cimiglia cement himself as the starting kicker or does he lose that job to some new walkon?
What freshman has the biggest impact for us this year?
Who has a bigger year at WR, Callaway or Brandon Johnson?
Theres a lot we can talk about and this was all off the top of my head. I understand some offtopic, but when Tennessee becomes the offtopic conversation thats when this thread is the worst at least in my opinion.
Rumph gave no quarter with his outside linebackers this spring and made them do push-ups and up-downs if they failed to meet his standard in drills.
If there was a counter for those two punishments, Allen and Austin Smith probably would have led the pack.
But coaches aren't hard on players they don't think have the potential to be difference-makers, so that shouldn't be considered a negative for Allen. The Vols are in dire need of disruptive presences off the edge, and if Allen ultimately can provide that, he's going to play a role for this team. This spring, though, was about adjusting, a natural part of the process for junior college players.
Tennessee needs real difference-makers on defense if they are going to improve enough for a real uptick in the win column. They need game-changing players like Derek Barnett, Jalen Reeves-Maybin or Rashaan Gaulden. The Vols have some players with that kind of potential, but they need to take the next step.
Allen would appear to have that potential. A staff with the caliber of defensive coaches like Tennessee's has high hopes for him. Rumph being so hard on Allen this spring also suggests he could be a good player.
How quickly can Allen tap into his potential?
Friend asked me to help her grill some steaks yesterday. NY strips. Got over there and found out it was one of those pellet grills. Never used one before. Decided to reverse sear which I had also never tried before. Couple thoughts. Pellet grills are almost too easy. It's like cheating. Haha. And secondly, the steaks turned out amazing. The reverse sear took a lot longer than I'm used to but we had to wait on the seafood boil anyway so I decided to go for it. So good. Will have to try it with charcoal next.
