Rothfuss is taking just as long, which sucks. He’s writing a trilogy and has put out 2 books in 11 years.

My suggestion is to read the two books of tThe Kingkiller Chrinicle, then reread them in conjunction with the Rothfuss TOR reread (written by another sci-fi/fantasy writer named Jo Walton). She inserts some (IMO) shallow opinions in occasionally, but she (and other commenters) point(s) out a lot of the really interesting things Rothfuss inserts into the story that are easy to miss (for example, the main character, who grew up with something akin to wandering minstrels, will sometimes speak in iambic pentameter or couplets when talking to a love interest).

The first time I read them, I really enjoyed the story. After he TOR reread and a simultaneous reread I was able to appreciate just how much thought Rothfuss put into every single line of what he writes.

This is good to know also. Thanks!!

Baskets is very good more sublime than laugh out loud. Atlanta is also outstanding but really defies a genre. Master of None on netflix is extremely well done and can be very funny. Love on netflix is also very good.

Sometimes a man has to admit to liking things that aren’t necessarily the most masculine things to watch. I like Greys Anatomy.

Come at me

You can watch all 700 some odd episodes of Greys Anatomy, and will have seen the same five scripts over and over again.

How to write a Greys Anatomy script:

Step 1: Put pictures of the cast on the wall. Throw 4 darts. The first two cast members who you hit will have angst-ridden sex with each other for the next season and a half. Likewise with the next two darts.

Step 2: List every medical problem you can find/imagine: throw 3 darts. Those will be your random patients for the week. Two will die (preferably the ones with close family relationships that the doctors form bonds with).

Step 3: Insert music that would have been trendy 9 months ago.

Congratulations, you’re a show runner.

I am beginning to think the 3rd book of the King killer Chronicles will never be published, which is what I am starting to think about GRRM"s The Winds of Winter.

I actually re-read the first two books of the KKC again about a year and a half ago, because I really thought Rothfuss would have finished the 3rd book by the time I re-read them, but no. I had read that both movie and TV deals were in the works, so assumed he would have the 3rd book completed, but GOT should have taught me better, and the quality of the writing in seasons 6 and 7 of HOT went down considerably, at least IMO, compared to the first 5 seasons once Hollywood screenwriters took over. Not that those last 2 seasons weren't good; just that they have taken some real !liberties with time and space on several occasions.

I am convinced Martin is going to die before he finishes GOT. I am not wishing it on him, obviously, but he is in no hurry and, unlike Robert Jordan, has stated he does not want anyone to finish it for him if something should happen to him. I don't know how old Rothfuss is, but I just finished reading the first two books a few months ago. I am going to take Darth's suggestion and do the Tor reread pretty soon.

When watching The Office it’s necesary to watch in chronological order. If you just see a random episode from season 5 it’s just not going to have the same effect.

It’s a masterpiece from beginning to end.

You're the worst is another along those lines on FX. Really good show. And marriage came on after it and was good too but they canceled it.

MASH was awesome until the last couple of seasons when Alan Alda gained more control and the episodes basically became anti-military protests with a smattering of humor here and there.

Yep...the path they took with Alda and Mike Farrell totally ruined a really, really good show.
