That is a lat pull down that connects to another lat pulldown so you can do cable. That's not the machines people were referring to as being removed. The machines that were thrown out were those that are basically a built in crutch helping you lift.

This. Cables and free weights are all you need...

Ben Martin couldn’t stay healthy and didn’t match 5 star status. Chris Donald was an enormous bust.

We haven’t had luck with many 5 stars period. Below are athletes that were Rivals 5 stars. Most didn’t pan out at Tennessee for one reason or another.

Kongbo
Richmond (still a year)
Phillips (still a year)
Khalil
Hurd (didn’t finish)
Da’rick (didn’t finish)
Bryce Brown (didn’t finish)
Janzen Jackson (didn’t finish)
Chris Donald
Ben Martin
Kenny O’Neal
Brent Vinson
Demetrious Worley (didn’t finish)
Brandon Jeffries (who)
James Banks (didn’t finish)
Mondre Dickerson
Jonathan Mapu

Even the following didn’t produce big until later in career except Kamara and Berry:

Kamara
Malone
Eric Berry
Robert Meachem
Gerald Riggs

Kongbo also still has a year.

Bryce Brown biggest hands down. #1 overall recruit by every major ranking, played hurt for one year, then left.

Honorable mention goes to David Oku, Nuke, and Chris Donald. Oh by the way, Dontavius Blair just received another black stripe. Branndon Stewart deserves a mention as well, but that turned out good for us.

Branndon Stewart only stayed one season. He gets a “bust” label for not beating out the most storied QB in our history?

Wasn't he also the QB on the team that upset a team ahead of us in '98 in the Big 12 Championship game?

Looks like a lat pulldown. Those are pretty useful.

Yeah... useful for doing Nordic ham curls off of the back of it... the maker of a man 😎

Actually just put some lat pull downs back in my program.... the ham curls have been out for awhile but they will give you a religious experience if you can actually perform them.

Carry on

The very one. He’s basing it on not producing at a school he barely played at for ONE SEASON. You’re bleeding to yell bust in that scenario. Riley Ferguson never took a snap for us and left because Dobbs took the job. Doesn’t register as a bust. Devonte Blair sat on the bench for 3 seasons on a team that NEEDED an OT to contribute. Registers.

Bryce Brown
Brian Darden
Chris Donald

These have their own tier. Injuries got others, and JUCO misses have their own categories. Khalil gets a seat, probably around #10 in recent years

Blair was a phenomenal bust.

Was he recruited to UT? Yes.
Did he do anything on campus? No.

Just because he wasn’t productive here doesn’t mean he was a bust in general. But for us? Undoubtedly yes.

Bust is when you have the path/opportunity to play and contribute and can’t meet the challenge. Can’t change the definition to just meet your narrative.

I don't think that you can call somebody a bust because he got beat out by a Top 5 player all time and left right after that.

I don't recall seeing any definitions around here to change. But since you asked, I would define a bust to be a highly rated recruit that doesn't pan out. Doesn't matter the reason. He didn't pan out for us.

He had opportunity but didn't do enough, got behind Peyton, who then took the reins and never let go. Stewart was a highly rated recruit who left after a year and never produced at UT. How is that any different than Helton or Colquitt never doing much for us? They all had their reasons for not producing much of anything in a game for UT. Shucks, even Ainge would've been a bust had he left in 2005, but he redeemed himself much like Crompton did.

Again, like I said, he's worth a mention.
