Basilio called this months ago.

Said Haslams were gonna get her removed come hell or high water.

When you contribute as much money as they do to the university, it is natural to want some type of control in return. That does not mean they should treat such an important thing as a university as a personal toy, however.

We don't need their money. They have cost us double what they give.

They can kick rocks.

Yea, I know that has been rumored. But then I thought there have been recent rumors that he may not be interested.

Last I heard, he was pretty interested, but that was a good while back.

LA, do you think Bill is the heir apparent for that position?

Fulmer needs all the support he can get, and I believe he knows he has it from the fans.

The past 10 years have made Fulmer look great, and the past 5 months have made him look like a hero.

If the Haslams want that fight, then I say bring it on because all the fans will be lining up in Fulmer's corner.

Edit: we need that Vol lady writer to conjure something up.

If Pruitt fails, we're done. Haslams (i.e., their new chancellor) will fire Fulmer, regain full control, and it will be churn and burn, 6-6 season status quo forever. We'll be Colorado/Minnesota.

Stadium will be half empty and they won't care because they will have thrown their weight around and shown everyone who runs things on the Hill.

Bill withdrew his name from consideration and went on record saying he isn't interested-- probably a political ploy to ram FOCUS through since he announced it when he started getting backlash for the bill. He could easily announce he's reconsidering his position "for the good of the university" or have one of his flunkies voted in by his handpicked board.

Bill's already moved into a house and set up residence in Knoxville. A majority on that board are tied into the Haslams, their politics and their business interests. They'll pick DiP's replacement and strengthen their control. No doubt.

Haslams will be able to make the argument to other money people that UT athletics, particularly football, is a sunk cost. They'll make the argument that we're already Colorado/Minnesota, and they'll point to our utter mediocrity/downright bad results on the field since 2008 to support it (nevermind the fact that they are essentially responsible for our downfall).

If Pruitt fails, we're looking at likely a November 2020 firing date. Would be 13 years since our last SEC East championship and nearly 20 years since our last SEC title. They'll argue that Tennessee just can't catch up to the Bamas, Georgias, and Floridas of the world and that we need to just focus on making bowl games and running a clean, academic-focused program (which is music to the ears of the type of people the Haslams will stack the BoT with).

Fulmer seems to be one of the only people with any sway whatsoever who cares about getting Tennessee competitive again, and if he gets ousted, there will be no resistance. We can stage another Schianomo and it won't matter. They'll ram it through and happily watch 50k show up to watch us play Vandy or Mizzou for bowl eligibility at Neyland every year.

I did, and it was great. Mad respect for Pruitt.

But I'm not even going to address this stupidity of inserting that context to a separate conversation of him talking about patience as fans of a football program. It's dumb, and quite frankly, insulting to the genuine experience he relayed at the Rotary Club.

Insulting to point out that our 'suffering' is a first world problem? You insult pretty easy. Sounds pretty first world.

I don't like your dystopian future. Stop.

So HOH hired Davenport because they thought they'd could control her. Helped her with the hiring of Currie and thought they had complete control. Then the outsourcing thing happened, but that's ok because people don't pay as much attention to the university as the do the sports at the university. In their mind still in control. Then SchiaNo happened and they learned she's actually smart enough to listen to more people than the HOH. Then they lost the AD fight. Next their initial Board was destroyed in Congress. So in their mind their embarrassment begins and ends with Davenport?

Any body see where Dallas Warmack, younger brother of Chance Womack, is graduating from Alabama and transferring. Redshirted this past season so he will be a RSJR and eligible to play immediately. You would think Pruitt would be all over this guy.

"Alabama will reportedly no longer have a Warmack on its roster.
That’s because reserve offensive lineman Dallas Warmack is transferring from the Crimson Tide football program, according to a report from AL.com’s Matt Zenitz. Likely confirming the report, Warmack’s Twitter profile now reads “Student-Athlete @ The University of…”
Warmack, the younger brother of All-American and first-round draft pick Chance Warmack, will graduate from Alabama this weekend and be immediately eligible as a grad transfer.
The younger Warmack did not see the field for the Tide during its 2017 championship campaign, redshirting for the first time in his three seasons in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He will be a redshirt junior at his next stop.

Pick him up

Assistant - "Hey coach. There's another player that we could use RIGHT NOW!"

Pruitt - "Pick em up!"
