Her termination letter pretty much says she was against the UT powers that be.

UTK is a complete and total sh*t show.

That termination letter is complete BS. There are some haymakers in there, too. For correspondence between employees on that level of the ladder, some of the words used were a little low, IMO.

Apparently, they booted her out of the building today and placed her on paid leave until she reports for summer session. UT leadership treats people so poorly. No wonder it's getting harder and harder for the university to hire good people.

Are they 12? Seriously, this family needs to be taken down. With UT being a state institution I am positive our law makers have a say in who gets made the next president of the university. We the people need to stand up and tell them that an Haslam should never even sniff a UT presidential office.

Haslams will be able to make the argument to other money people that UT athletics, particularly football, is a sunk cost. They'll make the argument that we're already Colorado/Minnesota, and they'll point to our utter mediocrity/downright bad results on the field since 2008 to support it (nevermind the fact that they are essentially responsible for our downfall).

If Pruitt fails, we're looking at likely a November 2020 firing date. Would be 13 years since our last SEC East championship and nearly 20 years since our last SEC title. They'll argue that Tennessee just can't catch up to the Bamas, Georgias, and Floridas of the world and that we need to just focus on making bowl games and running a clean, academic-focused program (which is music to the ears of the type of people the Haslams will stack the BoT with).

Fulmer seems to be one of the only people with any sway whatsoever who cares about getting Tennessee competitive again, and if he gets ousted, there will be no resistance. We can stage another Schianomo and it won't matter. They'll ram it through and happily watch 50k show up to watch us play Vandy or Mizzou for bowl eligibility at Neyland every year.

We can only hope, bowl eligiblility sounds pretty good

Let me come out of hiding to express my displeasure at all this. I gained a ton of respect for Bev D and as they say no good deed goes unpunished

My favorite part was :

6) You have failed to accept ultimate responsibility in some cases where subordinates make mistakes or errors and publicly have blamed administrators who held positions before you or others in dealing with problems you inherited.

Like I said, it’s wrong to put the third world “suffering” you ranted about in the same context as what Pruitt was replying about fan “suffering”. You did that, not me. Anyone with an IQ over 50 understands the difference. Whether you meant to or not, at best it is unbelievably stupid, at worst flat insulting.

Fans aren't suffering. It's insulting when people suggest they are. And my IQ is nearly 150.

Then you are smart enough to understand that you are just arguing over semantics...right?

I don't think any sane person equates what we have suffered through as fans of UT football, to real human suffering.

I was mostly poking fun. The OP got in my face. I pushed back. I'm done.

Of course they are relative to something. There is nothing wrong with using the word "suffering" in context.

What you did, is pull the context of fan suffering and equate it to third world suffering. Everyone knows what was meant by the question and anyone with half a brain can distinguish the two.

I don't know how else to explain this so you understand. Congrats on the 150 IQ.

I honestly want to know who is scared of telling them no and that this University doesn't need their money

This is my question. Where does the influence come from? It has to be more than money. There has to be some sort of political pressure or something I can't understand.

Haslems have been stackin the system with appointees I'm guessing?

We simple serfs can't comprehend the vastness of the web of influence that billions buy.

Condescension. Well done. I'm finished.

Anyone find it ironic that the letter describing lack of communication was poorly written and failed to describe specific instances?

There is def a Divide amongst the players at UT. It’s only going to get worse.

Coach can only do so much, and with the BOT being made primarily of Haslems cronies, it’s going to get worse.

He was under hastily dispatched orders...and his retirement was on the line. He winged it.

So... They fired her primarily for her poor communication skills and then proceeded to appoint her as a professor with tenure within the COMMUNICATION department. You can't make this stuff up.

Laughable! I emailed my thoughts to DiPietro on how sickening it is that he’s being a puppet for the Haslams. I recommend everyone else do the same.

She’s being fired for pissing off Haslam. DP is ultimately responsible for what occurred during the coaching search, Why isn’t he stepping down immediately as well?
