AFAIK he's officially waiting on the medical redshirt to be approved so he can have his last year of eligibility.

redshirts need to be accepted and submitted prior to NFL draft deadline, it's not right to waste a year of this kids job opportunity.

He was shown on the roster for the O&W game, although I don't recall seeing him play. Maybe Tennessee knows it's going to be approved, just red tape getting in the way. I looked again, and as far as I can see TKJr and JJ are both waiting for the medical redshirt to be approved by the NCAA.

I thought they were approved and the only reason those two didn't participate in spring was injury.

I wonder if the VQ comment about wanting Jacob Warren to be 250-260 meant the staff literally wants Jacob Warren at that weight, or if his name being used was simply to imply the staff wanted tight ends in general at that weight.

Because IIRC, Warren arrived very tall and lanky. Like 210lbs. Kind of an oversized receiver at 6'6" than your prototypical TE. His best attributes seemed to be his athleticism and hands, and I wonder how adding 40+ pounds would affect that.

At any rate, sounds like Warren might be a red shirt candidate.

Also noteworthy to me that we visited IMG this week.

They have the top two backs in the country (Trey Sanders and Noah Cain) and we've offered both, but there hasn't been any mention of them to us at all recently. I think we end up with Quavaris Crouch, but he likely ends up at OLB. I'd figure considering our coaching staff, depth chart, and offensive system (although thats a relative unknown to recruits at this point) that we'd have a number of blue chip backs trying to get in this class.

They want all of their TEs around that 250-260 weight

Warren said coming out of HS that he needed to bulk up and might redshirt. He was sidelined some this spring, so he seems like a good candidate.

That sentence were he was like I hope he does well enough so he could one day coach Alabama...I stopped reading after that.
