Recruiting Forum Football Talk LVIII

Listening to sports talk this morning and the idiots were talking about the Steelers and Big Ben and how he was not happy with the Steelers drafting Mason Rudolph. They said Big Ben needs to understand that it's been a while since the Steelers drafted a QB. I was like, "Do you even football you idiots? They took a QB last year."

I swear, any of us could be sports analysts on the radio. Even D4H, because you don't have to have any knowledge. You just have to be loud and opinionated.

Always will pull for Dobbs

I'm rooting for him. He's a gamer. Butch Jones would have been fired after three years without him. (and at first, only put him in when he had no other choice on the bench)

Who will be Tennessee's next commitment?

Article on SEC Country talking about upcoming commitment dates that we're in on.

3* TE Sean Brown (Just recently picked up an LSU offer, has offers from Auburn and Ole Miss as well) is deciding on 5/12.

4* WR Ramel Keyton is deciding on 5/16.

4* CB Tyus Fields is deciding sometime this summer.

We're leading or in great shape with all three. And because I like the flash of recruiting rankings, I used 247's calculator. Adding those three would bump us to a 142 overall score, which would put us 14th Nationally, between Carolina (currently 10 recruits-- three 4*'s, seven 3*'s) and Mississippi State (9/4/5), assuming all else goes unchanged. That would give us eight commitments, five 4*'s, two 3*'s, and our currently unrated DT Darel Middleton. Side note, that would be the highest score for a school that has eight commitments; every school ahead of us has more than eight.

Good analysis.

Good info. Thanks. :good!:

I always thought Georgia and Auburn were our two biggest recruiting rivals in our hay day.

Back in the 90’s and early 2000’s, we were always competing against Georgia, Bama, Auburn, FSU, Notre Dame, and Nebraska/Oklahoma on seemingly every recruit. Very common to find ourselves in a top 3 with Bama and FSU regularly. There was a time when competing with Georgia and Auburn for a recruit was beneath us. Time to get back to that.

I’ll never complain about beating auburn/uga for a kid.
