Actually you are completely wrong. I didn't ask that poster the question. I asked volls all day the question. Wildorange decided to insert his/her feelings to a question that wasnt asked to them. :good!:

Who responded to yer question doesn't make what I said about the intention of the question wrong. Were you trying to have a legit conversation about Jordan's defense with the Wizards? I'm guessing not. You wanted to get that response. It just happened to come from a different poster.

I actually was, there was a myth "volls all day" post that jordan played elite defense his whole career. He didnt. Like someone else said last night. Jordan had other elite defenders on his team to assist him. Bron hasnt and he has been caring the defenisve burden (guarding the best offensive player on the other team) for his team for a while. A large part of the blame is on bron b/c he orchestrated his past 4/5 teams. But ehhh

Lebron can guard more positions but MJ not guarding the best scorer is a myth. Jordan was a far better defender than lebron. MJ led the league in steals 3 times and averaged the same number of blocks per game as lebron.

You know it was easier to steal the ball back then? You could be more physical and hand check which led to more steals (that's not a diss on jordan, thats just the era in which he played) Hell, you breathe on someone now and its a foul.

Lebron is elite but he's not MJ. And like Ziti and others have pointed out, it's much more than the stats too. For those of us who watched both careers its clear as day that Lebron isn't on the same level with mental toughness and other immeasurable intangibles. Michael Jordan is the GOAT. PERIOD. Lebron is on his way to 2nd place, that's a damn good place to be.

If you could somehow take MJ's mental makeup and put it in Lebron's body that would be something to see, I wouldn't miss a game.

As an opening statement: do not take this as me saying Lebron is better than Jordan.

With that said, I think the “Lebron is a pansy” narrative is over played. The flops and “whining” for calls is just a part of today’s NBA. It is simple gamesmanship. Officiating has removed the physical play that was so often seen in the NBA back during Jordan’s reign. The way Lebron plays is a product of the NBA he grew up in.

It’s nature vs nurture.

I think if Lebron had been raised and started his career back then, he would have been a much more physical, less “whimpy” if a player.

Are also saying LeBron wouldn't have scored as many points back then?

Jordan has the 3rd most steals per game in the history of the NBA. If you discount by era he was still at the top of the leader board in steals every year. Has lebron ever even been top ten in a season. And they get about the same number of blocks per game.
