Charges being dropped, to me, doesn’t necessarily mitigate blame. It also doesn’t preclude being suspended or dismissed.

I guess I hold these guys to too high of a standard.

I agree with holding players to a high standard... but people lie. You have to investigate claims, especially heat-of-the-moment claims that tend to be he said-she-said. He's already suspended, due to the arrest. UT will sort out the facts and deal with it appropriately.

Looking back at our class without the signing day adrenaline we took some real reaches (most of the DBs, Kingston Harris). I know Pruitt was put in a tough spot, hopefully a few will pan out.

How about not over reacting until relevant info has been collected?

Antonutti, George, and Harris were the only ones I didn’t like. I think David could be a solid nickel. Garland and Tillman were steals

Vols: UT fans attacking Dan Wolken over Schiano should know the truth

I tried to read this article with an open mind. But, when he included a statement at the end from Wolken, it gave me a bad feeling. It came across like, "I know you've been getting annihilated for nearly eight months, I don't think it's fair, so I'm going to write this article and will allow you to provide any information you want me to include that will slow down the vitriol."

As Rexrode correctly points out, Wolken made his bed hard not just by his exchanges with Currie, but by the way he mocked and ridiculed the Tennessee fanbase for revolting against the Schiano hire.

For sure.

Not just a Tennessee thing, but an NCAA issue: I’m just tired of these guys getting a pass because they’re good football players.

Obviously you let the facts of the case play out, but as I said earlier, dropped charges don’t mean something that puts the university in a bad light didn’t occur. Not to mention the fact that someone may have been assaulted and held against their will. To me, whether or not the victim decides to drop their charges or the police department decides to drop the case for lack of evidence (we’re not at the point for either of those things), should not necessarily determine whether or not an individual should be allowed to continue on the state university’s football team.

Pretrial hearings. Jury selection will start today as soon as they finish motions. And yes, she is on record with multiple lies and social media, texts and the testimony of partygoers and friends will not support her claims.

I do find it interesting that she has insisted on following through. With everything that has leaked to this point, it appears that the prosecution is going to have a tough time convicting. I agree on the other posts that these accusations have been very costly for AJ, and he will never recover everything he lost, even if he is acquitted, which is my guess on what the outcome will be.

I think Heupel would have been extremely difficult to replace, regardless of who replaced him. Now, that it's Dooley, who has never been an OC before, I think that they have a dropoff. Hopefully, it's a very large one.

I don't think Dooley's dumb enough to take a wrecking ball to one of the most effective offenses in the NCAA... especially with a Senior QB that knows the system

He's an awful head coach but he's not dense

The delay in jury selection today is because the court is reportedly holding closed hearings to determine, in compliance with the rape shield laws, how much of her sexual history and experience the defense can get in to on cross examination.

I don't think he's going to revamp anything, but what kind of plays is he going to call?

Rexrode said that is his line of work was being "assaulted." Obviously, no one condones physical violence, as he mentioned the tragedy in Maryland. But the reason why people are verbally responding is because some journalists these days are making themselves a part of the story as opposed to reporting the story. I believe Wolken made himself a part of the story, and to top it off, he called fans "crybabies" because he believed his opinion was better than theirs.

I listen to Wolken frequently on the radio as he is on a local show here every week. He has some correct takes. But, he is also one of the those journalists who thinks his opinion is always correct and let's you hear about it because he is the one with the pen (or keyboard). Seems to be the way of the new journalist.

She was party to the civil suit against UT, and she wanted the money. The DA filed criminal charges, not the accuser. UT chose to settle the civil suit so the conflicting statements and witness accounts haven't made it to court.

This is one of those cases where justice can't be done.
