There was even an article written about how much work Richmond was having to do on and off the field to learn LT. Felt bad for all the flack he’s endured

Yeah, Richmond at LT didn't work. It wasn't his natural position and it impacted the entire offense, making it difficult for a young QB who really wasn't ready. I think the protection will be better this year and the QB(s) will be more confident. Retool last year's hodgepodge offense-- and if it starts clicking, we could have a nice season.

Thompson just looks so dynamic with the ball in his hands. If he’s playing DB I hope he gets opportunity as a returner.

Doug Matthews has said on his show Pruitt was wasting a scholarship if he brought Thompson in to be a receiver (my paraphrase, but his view was the need is at corner).

There was even a quote by Jashon saying something to that effect of he wasn’t 100% focused on his assignments because he was worried about Richmond’s ability at LT. That was after the app state game

The good news is this staff didn’t make all the recruiting promises to him so if he starts giving questionable effort they’ll pull him and put someone in his place. That’s probably all he needs is to know his job isn’t guaranteed.

Not to mention, Butch had them all worried about getting hurt. Every practice, every workout was tailored to injury prevention. The players were tense and unfocused, which tends to cause more injuries. Self-fulfilling prophecy. CJP said he'd never seen a program built around injury prevention and immediately changed everything. The players seem looser and more focused, with clear expectations-- and no major injuries since the new staff arrived.

Except when we were in full pads on fridays before games...

I hope he can do it. I don't think Trey is a good answer at LT either, not that he isn't a great OL, I just don't think he is a LT.

He should’ve started at LT last year Week 1.

He’s no question the best offensive lineman we’ve had in the last decade. Maybe Juwaun James is the closest comp?
