Smith, Johnson, Kennedy, Carvin/Calbert, Richmond
My early prediction
What I'm thinking. Pretty sure Carvin will get the nod though and I think Locklear may be ahead of Calbert. I also wonder about whether they'll want to keep Richmond at LT or move him to the right side. Conventional wisdom says put him on the right side, but he's been at LT for so long now that if he feels more comfortable on the left side than the right they may just want to keep him there.
Absolute best case scenario for me is Drew has a revelation and becomes solid at LT.
Would LOVE for that left side to be Drew, Trey, Kennedy but not sure if thats even reasonable at this point. Like Sleegro said earlier, I think Treys best position might be G but he can still be a really good LT. May need to play there out of necessity.
Even that case I have no idea who plays RT.
RT should be the #3 tackle in the 2015 class, right tackle out of Memphis University School, standing at 65 316 pounds...Drew Richmond![]()
It would be good if we didn't have to rely on 18 or 19 year olds for the offensive line unless they're generally regarded as a 5-star immediate impact lineman. Age/experience is an important key for the OLine as is the most important unit quality of cohesion. If possible we want our best 5 guys on the field.

LT is still the most important spot if you have a right handed QB. You need your most trustworthy blocker to protect his blind side. Trey Smith is the man for this job.
Also how humongous is it that we got Brandon Kennedy? I feel infinitely better about our offense as a whole knowing we have a talented upperclassmen to plug in at center. He's been groomed for this role. Center is such a crucial position in so many ways. That could be the difference between us sucking and being pretty good honestly. His addition makes every oline combo look a million times better.
Oh, and the coaches said they're trying Smith at LT and expect Hall to play. But they're still moving players around, so some could end up playing multiple positions. IDT anybody knows what to expect from Hall-- if he can stay healthy or play at the same level. Would be great if he could. And by all accounts, Richmond continues to improve. Maybe he can be the player everyone thought he would be.
Tennessee will potentially exit the dead period with another addition to its 2019 class, and then all eyes will be on Warren Burrells announcement and the upcoming cookout following the end of the dead period.
VQ hmmmm
Well see if that strategy changes in the fall, but the Vols have now positioned themselves well for a number of defensive backs. Logic would dictate that Tennessee cant take all of Burrell, Jaydon Hill, Tyus Fields, Devin Bush, Elijah Blades and safety Jaylen McCollough and yet the staff is recruiting all them fairly hard and feels strongly about Tennessees positioning with many of them.
