Arkansas maybe? I know they were looking at Kelly Bryant. Haven’t paid enough attention to their offense to know what they are looking for

Need a good passer there too but not as strict. Bryant is a better passer than Hurts. Hurts wouldn't be ideal there either. Miss st maybe if it were SEC West but I think Morhead would also prefer someone with better pass accuracy

While we may want a prototypical passer I hope like heck we have a QB with wheels and agility. It’s the ultimate equalizer.

They key is to find the guy that can win when you have to throw 20-30times in a game but can move. He needs to be a natural thrower like a Adrian Martinez, Baker, Pat Mahomes, Tua, etc. all dual threat guys but they win with their arms first and their legs are used to first move around pocket for better throwing angles and last resort to run

Is your dad home and doing better?

Yes, LA. Thank you for asking. We brought him home Tuesday. He is doing better, slowly. His best day was today. I spent yesterday with him sitting on the front porch directing me on where to put all his Halloween decor. He loves decorating for Halloween. He bought this 7' animated werewolf this year and he would have been extremely disappointed had he not got to put it up. They have about 180 kids come by for candy each year.

I took him for a walk yesterday and he did pretty well. Got him breathing a little hard which I'm told is good. I had to come to the office today and my sister was looking after him and she took him for a walk. He was happy that he was able to go a little bit further today. He's trying to wean himself from the narcotic pain relievers so today he cut back to half the dosage.

Thanks again for asking. Again, I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from all of you.

I don't think Helton will be here next year unless he just really likes it here. May go back to help his brother.

I dont think his brother is safe out there. They are very mediocre. They’ll probably give him one last effort to fix the staff but we’ve seen how that hasn’t exactly yielded The Who’s who of coaching talent in that scenario. He’s best served IMO by developing his own identity here. And are they really going to let Clay hire him at more than $1.2M???

But brotherhood runs deep, we shall see.

A true DUAL-THREAT QB to run a Pro-Style run heavy offense, yeah that sounds like it would work astoundingly well.
I mean, yeah, it does. It isn't like he's not in a pro style offense at Alabama. He's not an elite passer by any means, but he is an elite runner. He also doesn't turn the ball over very much. I think it'd be a good thing to have a mobile guy back there next year, given our offensive line struggles. Still don't think we'll be very strong there next year. I think a lot of folks are forgetting that the guy was in the running for the Heisman and was SEC offensive player of the year as a true freshman. Guys like that don't come along very often.

This. Considering what the O looked like last year and the fact that we are still 5 or 6 OL away from an SEC caliber line, I think he has done just fine.

I find most of the coaching conversations on here baffling. Year 1 is truly hard to assess one way or the other. I thought Malzahn would have 1 or 2 national titles by now based on his Year 1, and Kevin Sumlin as well. Saban looked pedestrian year 1. Our coaches are doing fine with what they inherited.

For example, the USCe loss was fundamentally about lack of depth and lack of elite talent on either line of scrimmage. I can’t park that one on the coaches. Our defense flunked out in the second half for those reasons. I know full well Pruitt can scheme up a stout defense if he has the players. Helton has done well in recent weeks being very creative against Auburn and USCe, and honestly he had some nifty plays against Bama.

Not sure why people debate this
