On another good news front there was serious chatter from a very respected poster on TOS about three State of Georgia players that are very very very close to flipping if they haven't already. A LB, DB, DL. Thats all he could say without burning his source. So far he has been money or owned it if he was wrong and that hasn't been but once or twice...Again TIFWIW.

Referring to someone posting on 247
So we're possibly talking OP, KWjr, and who's the DL??

SEC should get rid of divisions and rotate like they do in basketball. I love the Big 12’s system. #1 and #2 face off no matter what.
Yes and play 9 games
But coaches want to keep a 4th cupcake game and fans want to keep traditional rivals. Vol fans would not want to give up Bama game and same thing for UGA vs Auburn.

High is only 44 degrees on Saturday. Going to be much colder than that once the sun goes down. Any thoughts on how the cold weather impacts the game? Would think their stronger running attack would have an advantage there (cold hands, harder to throw and catch).

Wind more important that temp

Practice notes...

Micah Abernathy and Trevon Flowers were both getting work for the second straight day. I guess Pruitt is going to cal them a game time decision in terms of their availability for Saturday.

Staying on the defense, there was plenty of work for defensive linemen John Mincey and Emmitt Gooden and Tennessee continues to try and build depth there. That depth will be tested on Saturday if the Vols can't win on first down forcing Kentucky into third and long and get off the field.

More tackling work for the linebackers as tackling will be big thing week against Snell who pushed the pile forward and Terry Wilson who is elusive in space.

On the offensive side, the offensive line was working how they started last week with Drew Richmond and Tatum at the tackles, Ryan Johnson at center, Neihaus and Jamir Johnson at the guard spots.

Plenty of blocking work with the tight ends on Wednesday. That will be a key position not just in the run game but also perhaps in pass protection against a guy like Josh Allen.

In terms of the passing game, there was plenty of work on the vertical game. Kentucky hasn't given up many explosive plays this year. Obviously Tennessee has had some success stretching the field and that will be a key component to the match up on Saturday.

Bold Prediction: Jarrett Guarantano has his first rushing TD of the season (maybe of his career?) on Saturday.

Well, he was one of the top Dual-threats coming out of high school, but apparently that was BS... I said the other day he has to start running in these remaining games for us to have a shot. He can't just keep staring down the primary and not picking up pressure, getting blasted...

David Ebben's stuff is consistently the best sports writing I read all week. Love his work. The Taylor article was particularly good. Love that dude even more. My people are from Coffee Co., so I've always had an eye on him, glad to see he turned out to be such a baller, and apparently a really great kid, too.

Where in Coffee Co? When I was growing up in Nashville I had an aunt and uncle who we visited a couple of times in Manchester. It was during one of those trips that my cousin was listening to UT vs Aub on the radio. That's when I became a VFL. I want to say it was the 71 game that we lost 10-9, but I would've been 14 then and it seems like I was younger. Anyway, small world.
