He's a beta. He was wound up tighter than Dick's hat band before every big game.
Don't get all the Bob hate. Sure, he's no John Ward, but then, who is? I'd rather hear Bob and Tim than all of those bozos that CBS, ESPN and SEC put on. And if he calls a player Betty Schnell, or Tua Tanga-viola, well, that's just Bob doing Bob.
I like Tim. Hope he's on there for years to come. Switch Kesling with Mike Keith if he'll come and we're topping tall timber.Don't get all the Bob hate. Sure, he's no John Ward, but then, who is? The maddest I've ever been watching a Tennessee game was 2015 Oklahoma. Jumped out 17-0 or whatever it was and they undoubtedly took their foot off the pedal. They being Jones. I remember thinking early that if they kept doing that we weren't going to win.Looking back, the "Butch Stones" moniker was valid in one game of his entire tenure here: UGA 2013. And that was sort out of necessity. He shut down the offense and went into "burn the clock" mode every time we had some semblance of a lead, and it cost us time after time after time.
This is what happens after the same name mispronunciation jokes are run into the dirt over and over and over. It goes from endearing to now it's all that everyone thinks of.
idc really about whether or not Kesling should be fired, retained, orange-parachuted, or whatever. Just pointing out the internet cycle.
How important are "chunk" or 20 yard plays to Tennessee?
In SEC play (removing Florida game because that was a traveshamockery - and I didn't want to relive that misery)
Tennessee has had 18 possessions with a 20 yard play, here are how those drives ended
10 TDs
2 FGs
2 Missed FGs (48 and 41 yard misses, both is Cimaglias range)
2 Punts
1 TO - Downs
1 Fumble
14/18 were "successful". 78%
Tennessee has had 35 possessions WITHOUT a 20 yard play, here are how those drives ended
25 Punts
2 TO - Down
2 Fumbles
1 Safety
3 FGs - (UK, Auburn - 2)
2 TDs (both in USC game)
5/35 were "successful". 14%
Sure it is obvious that 20 yard plays are good to help score but never thought it would be that drastic a difference. 78% vs 14%

I would have to go back to watch the OU game, but I don't recall that game being conservative. In fact, if you look at the play by play in the box score, we passed seven times on first and second down in the 2nd half. It was the last series that probably got conservative.
The plays that hurt in that game were the Medley missed FG, the Ellis dropped pass (wide open), and the Hurd fumble immediately after an INT. We didn't lose the ball on Hurd's fumble but lost 12 yards and out of field goal range.
He and Debord did get a little conservative in the 2015 UF game.
I actually read it on a bar sign on campus back in the 1980s. I think it was The Library or The Last Lap. It was "Go Vols, Flush the Commode-whores" It was good then, and I am glad you said it because it reminded me of some good times.Hey..you used my Commode-whore vandy tag..lol. I was the only one calling them that...Feel free to use the Crappabamma/bubba one if you like it too![]()
I hated him when he first started. He was really bad, IMO. He has improved and worked very hard at it. He is far from perfect, but he is pretty good at this point, IMO.Don't get all the Bob hate. Say what you want Kesling’s voice means Tennessee football is on. He’s kinda of synonymous with it at this point. I agree with someone else said he’s good at Basketball.

You meant Bob, right? Because he shows very little emotion. You work for the vol network dude. Get at least a little excited when we hit a big play or something.Bert just doesn’t get into it enough for me. I get being professional and he’s the main guy but you’re on the vol network. Show some excitement some pain etc every now and then.
