amazingGrace - The recommendation for a good chiropractor is the route to go with the migraines. Select one that has been trained in all the current methods/practices such as the Activator Method, holistic (for nutrition/lifestyle), and deep massage. Personal experience with disc/nerve issues in the back and hips for me that had become chronic pain over the years. I had great success along with many friends who have used similarly trained chiros. We also have a young child (nephew) in the extended family who had severe digestive issues from birth that was basically cured after a few weeks of treatment around the age of five. The medical docs could not figure out the problem and tried meds that didn't work. Well trained chiros can do much more than bone cracking now days.
Many times migraines originate from food allergies, which is where holistic comes in. Other times it can be spinal related. Sometimes it is a combination. The Activator Method on the spine, neck, and hips is not bone cracking - they just use a small handheld device that easily manipulates the area into alignment with no pain. Combined with massage it can give great relief in days. They teach techniques and exercises that can help keep things in good shape with an occasional monthly follow-up if needed. Many medical insurance plans cover them now. If not, most will work with folks on a payment arrangement that can help.
I went from being barely able to walk with great pain from the car into their office, to going back to my 10,000 steps per day fitness in 6 visits (30 minutes each) in a 2 week period. I started back to golfing 3 days or so a week one month after the visits. I still do the techniques/exercises periodically and have no pain at all. It's been over 6 months since the treatments. You can wreck your body doing what you are doing. Please try it. If it doesn't work then you've eliminated an option and can try something else.
