When Butch was going to make Scott the OC, VQ mentioned it quite a bit before it happened. It doesn’t feel that way this time with Friend.

This tells me he was a phantom option when Pruitt was first hired if they never even met until now.

When i said earlier some high ups had reservations about Freeze...fulmer wasn’t one of them as far as i know.

I'm apparently in the minority here, but there are plenty of good coaches out there without Freeze's baggage. Not only was he calling an escort service, but he also committed major recruiting violations and tried to pin them on Houston Nutt. That's low down right there. Of course he was also working overtime to build a holier than thou image while doing all this. I say we find someone who is a decent human being and a good coach.

The interesting part is that Fulmer knows Freeze from recruiting, a la Michael Oher. I saw Fulmer speak to the Memphis TD Club the night that Oher was recognized as the player of the year.

Yeah but it's his first year and there's no book out on him yet. He also has Baker Mayfield. I like guys with experience in the college game, especially in the SEC, and those 3 have it.
