A bit off topic, but what's going on with Florida recruiting? Ranked just #21 right now, their highest ranked commit is 141, and according to 247 they're only really in it for two more top 100 players. This class could be a great first step in giving us a significant talent edge over Mullen.

It’s what Mullen does. One of the reasons I wasn’t a fan, though he’s a good coach

That being said, they always seem to close strong

I don’t think a formal offer has been made yet. Freeze is the only candidate we have formally met with (maybe multiple times but not sure). Not sure what the hold up is if he is Pruitt’s first choice...maybe Pruitt is still mulling it?
i think you're probably right. i think after listening and reading all i have about the potential of a Freeze hire, knowing that he's likely met at least twice, once with staff members....then he really is trying to decide if this guy is a fit or not.

knowing that he's included staff members in any part of these talks/meetings, that i don't think Freeze, or anyone else for that matter, is going to come in and be able to go hire guys they would like to bring in. i think Pruitt likes the coaches he has on staff right now, so fit with the staff is huge.

which may tell us that Feeze isn't the "end all be all" to Pruitt, and if not, that's fine.

i've maintained that if Freeze is 'the guy' then you do what you have to get him. that just may not be the case. personally, i'd be A OK with that hire. but if not, i think Enos would be #2 and Lindsay #3.

and not upset at all at any of them.

until Bama hires Freeze, then i'll get bent.

I'd feel a lot better if they were coming back. Not sure why some are so confident that Butler, Mincey, Gooden, garland, Emerson with a mix of freshman would be ok....

I mean yes another year in strength program will help but Gooden is only one of that group that I would be confident in having a solid year. Even he is inconsistent. Mincey has potential. I think the reps Mincey, Butler and Gooden got this year will help next yr. it was nice to have a staff willing to put them in rotation in key points of games.

We are going to have to pray these newcomers are legit and that we land some more before NSD
yeah, they COULD turn out great.

they might now.

it's just unknown.

Yes, Hyams was on. He’s on every Monday and Friday with the Wake Up Zone... he was on around 6:45... I heard the tail end of his segment so I missed the talk regarding our OC search.
I didnt hear him today.....after football season he his not on unless football news breaks.

Big reason I didn't want him here is recruiting. Have to be a great recruiter to be HC at UT. Not the case at UF with all that talent all over the place. He can back into a top 15 class every year at UF.

I don't want Bailey to reclassify. I want him to come in when we have the trenches reloaded and the defense stacked and ready to rock. He would just be a band-aid for next year.

Let him come in recruit another stud class. If he wins the job in 2020 that could only mean good things imo I don't believe Pruitt would start him over a RS SR JG or Shrout/Maurer if Bailey wasn't ready, but I'd much rather have Bailey from 2021-2023 when our team should be absolutely stacked with talent.

Sounds like Mel Tucker might be getting the Colorado job. Wonder who Kirby replaces him with if that happens?

IDK, but coaching movement this year seems like it could have a significant amount of recruiting implications. More than I can recall in the past. With the early signing period it really messes with things. Before the early signing period, coaching moves were pretty much settled before you signed. Now you may sign for a coach that may not be there. If I'm a kid, I don't sign early.

They always tend to close late as lots of top prospects in the state of Florida go the distance with their recruiting. Not to mention, they are trying to flip a couple of AU recruits.
