Also, for those country music fans (not Kane Brown or FGL "country") that haven't heard of Colter Wall, your goal for today is to fix that.

You like Tyler Childers, Lynx? Catching him tonight and tomorrow at Exit/In.

Edit: late to the party, I see. So happy he's getting the exposure he deserves. Only thing I didn't see mentioned was his Red Barn live album, so go peep that ASAP.

Isbell peaked with the Southeastern album. That album was as good as there ever was IMO. Nashville Sound was meh compared to his other works. If We Were Vampires is a great lyrical piece though.

Songwriting is an art. Like many artists before him, he has “made it”, gotten married, sobered up, kids etc. living a life of comfort. Distancing yourself from the hollows of hardships and pain and that is the place where art truly flourishes.

My favorites over the last few years are:
Tyler Childers
Whiskey Myers
Brent Cobb
John Moreland
Ryan Bingham
Turnpike Troubadours
Kacey Musgraves

reminds me of Dean Dillon talking about trying to be the first person to get to a great artist who's just divorced or went thru a bad break up, you know some art is about to pour from him

I love Turnpike Trubodors. Got to see them at "the caverns" for a filming of Blugrass underground. What a great show!

Waylon's a wimp. Siberian shamans drink the urine of reindeer who have consumed amanita muscaria mushrooms and don't even water it down with tequila.

That's how it usually goes. First old time religion, then country music, which inevitably leads to a discussion of psychedelic shamanism. I'm not sure the Pruitt media team anticipated this turn, but it was inevitable. Look for a few clicks toward the neon effect in the jersey orange next year.

So...Chip Lindsey is due the $100K this Saturday. I would think if we are getting him, that will go down today. That will free up Gus to make the net-zero hire.

And of course Bama (after they house the Dawgs this weekend) will be making a move on Freeze come Sunday/Monday, when Enos splits for Terps. I also believe the Rev would prefer to go to Bama. More limelight.

Turnpike, Randy Rogers and Cory Morrow are great

Before Stapleton and some of the other folks we've mentioned showed up on the scene, Texas country was some of the only country I would listen to (few years ago when bro country was at its peak). If you like those guys, you should try Randall King. I fear that Cody Johnson is going Nashville, but he was a good one for many years.

Auburn's issues with bonuses due to employees are not our concern. and will have no factor in how or when we make the decision.

the main consideration, it seems, is figuring out if Freeze is who we want. i think this week was vetting week. and pruitt, Fulmer et al are probably figuring out if that's the way they want to go, and if so, how to proceed from here with contracts, PR, when/how to announce etc........i'm sure if there is going to be a deal made with Freeze, it's going to have some way to protect UT should Freeze fall back on old habits or something, so that may take a little time to work out.

long story short............Chip Lindsay's $100k ain't got nothing to do with it. that's auburn's problem.

Sturgill is all their daddies. I also really enjoy White Buffalo.

Nashville Sound was great ya hipster.
Lol no skinny jeans in this closet. I’m a Wrangler and boots kind of guy.

Nashville Sound would have been great for most artists, but I hold Isbell to a much higher standard. The only song on that album that reached that standard was If We Were Vampires. Not a fan of any album that has multiple songs solely dedicated to politics... if I wanted to listen to politics I would turn the TV to CNN.

No one in there right mind could say he had songs that touch you deep down in your soul like Cover Me Up, Elephant, Alabama Pines, Traveling Alone, Something more than free, Decoration Day, etc. other than If We Were Vampires on that album.

Wow Bill Snyder looks to be stepping down.
which is why i was saying earlier its likely leavitt and Tucker will be employed soon, we need to wrap Freeze up before these dominoes start falling, driving demand and price way up
