I think both Pruitt and potential candidates are waiting on so e dominoes to topple over. I had in the back of my mind that if Freeze didn't happen by today, (maybe tomorrow) it probably wasn't happening.So...Chip Lindsey is due the $100K this Saturday. I would think if we are getting him, that will go down today. That will free up Gus to make the net-zero hire.
And of course Bama (after they house the Dawgs this weekend) will be making a move on Freeze come Sunday/Monday, when Enos splits for Terps. I also believe the Rev would prefer to go to Bama. More limelight.
Isbell peaked with the Southeastern album. That album was as good as there ever was IMO. Nashville Sound was meh compared to his other works. If We Were Vampires is a great lyrical piece though.
Songwriting is an art. Like many artists before him, he has “made it”, gotten married, sobered up, kids etc. living a life of comfort. Distancing yourself from the hollows of hardships and pain and that is the place where art truly flourishes.
My favorites over the last few years are:
Tyler Childers
Whiskey Myers
Brent Cobb
John Moreland
Ryan Bingham
Turnpike Troubadours
Kacey Musgraves
Next years schedule is significantly easier and I feel pretty confident that Hurts is here next year. Our win total should increase by a good margin with other teams losing so much and us getting an infusion of talent that we will be next year. Not to mention finally catching up with S&C
Bass, 99% of the time I'm with you on all things Tenn but for the life of me I can not understand all this love for Hurts.. I remember everyone commenting on how poor Hurts was at completing passes beyond 10 yds..Next years schedule is significantly easier and I feel pretty confident that Hurts is here next year. Before Stapleton and some of the other folks we've mentioned showed up on the scene, Texas country was some of the only country I would listen to (few years ago when bro country was at its peak). If you like those guys, you should try Randall King. I fear that Cody Johnson is going Nashville, but he was a good one for many years.
He can run, that’s first. With our OL still not being where we want it next year, that helps a lot and gives the defense something to worry about.Bass, 99% of the time I'm a you on all things Tenn but for the life of me I can not understand all this love for Hurts.. I don't think he will be here next yr so probably won't matter but we Vol fans always think the next guy is going to be THE guy.. JMO
Big fan of Sturgill but I view him a little different. He is way more Acid and DMT influenced. Psychodellic country
Trying to make sense out of things said by Jimmy? You RF experts help me out with something.
Hyams was on Nashville radio this morning and he keeps doubling down that our three grad transfers count toward the 2019 class, which I don't think is the case. Is it? He says we can only sign 22 because of that. That's not true is it?
He also said we have 83 scholarship players but do I remember correctly that Bain made 84? Or no?
He’s stuck with 22 all year. Hubbs tells him directly they’ll find a way to get to 25 all the time. He doesn’t really dismiss it he just doesn’t respond. You RF experts help me out with something.

I'll take that bet..I'm not buying his tweet about not reclassifying to '19 either. Hubbs put that out with direct knowledge and wouldn't do so if it weren't a very good possibility. I think they just want to keep it quiet but I'd bet $100 Bailey enrolls this summer and is our starting QB this fall. Unless of course Freeze is able to turn JG into what we all hoped for when he signed. Then we can redshirt Bailey which would be great but I doubt that happens, more likely he plays as a TF.
