Hope you're right. I wasn't wrong about what happened this year. I really hope I am about next season. I look for the real jump to occur in 20. I think we will be a really good team by then.
I agree. I'm not saying we're contending next year at all. I think we're competing if we recruit the way it looks like we will in 2020. But I don't think we're going to be depending on freshmen on the lines of scrimmage unless we have a lot of injuries. I mean, we redshirted a couple guys last year and so for all we know they'll be ahead of any freshmen we bring in this year that we also plan to redshirt.

Now things could change if Richmond leaves but I'm not sure he is.

Well, in my way of thinking, Pruitt has two years at least here. If it isn't pretty next season for Auburn, Gus is gone. Maybe Freeze thinking he might get the Auburn job? Or maybe it's not as hard to do well at Auburn, since they aren't totally rebuilding?

Also very plausible..this coaching search is very different from previous searches I feel like.

Why would Freeze want to go under Malzahn? He'd have much more freedom to run his thing at Tennessee. Maybe Auburn is technically the better job right now, but Malzahn is going to run his offense, and he's been on shaky ground there since forever.

Tennessee doesn't need to be the first place he breaks back into coaching. He prefers he go somewhere else to prove himself first, not here. Honestly, I didn't hear any actual REASONS, just a lot of babbling. Pruitt should do this, Pruitt has problems to fix, Pruitt should do that, Pruitt better do this.

Burns and Doering moved on to this past season and the rebuild and pointed out HF's history and how he could help but EA just went right back to how he doesn't want him here, wants him to go somewhere else first.
I am sure Coach Pruitt will take EAs advice. Lol

I’m starting not to like freeze, tennessee all of the sudden feels like a stepping stone or a bargaining chip so to speak,I don’t like it.

Wasn't this a given since Monday? No one suggested anything but that Freeze wants to be a head coach again.

I think it's going to be Freeze or Lindsey. Not ground breaking of course. But either of those are fine. Hugh is the best option, but Lindsey would do a good job.
Pruitt’s a Bama product.
We're trying to forget that...

supposedly he and Malzahn are best buds

I'm not buying his tweet about not reclassifying to '19 either. Hubbs put that out with direct knowledge and wouldn't do so if it weren't a very good possibility. I think they just want to keep it quiet but I'd bet $100 Bailey enrolls this summer and is our starting QB this fall. Unless of course Freeze is able to turn JG into what we all hoped for when he signed. Then we can redshirt Bailey which would be great but I doubt that happens, more likely he plays as a TF.
Maurer? Damn you guys just forget about him, and I don't get it..the kid is good, and with a real OC...he might be great.

It still may happen, so I’m reserving my total meltdown mode for if/when it doesn’t. But for me, hiring Freeze felt like we (TN) we’re finally going to do something elite programs do: hiring the best capable candidate available, taking a chance and swinging for the fence. And again, we still may, but if it turns out we didn’t because of something stupid, the backlash from the fans for NOT hiring an elite OC will be way worse than the backlash from the media if we do hire Freeze. JMO...

To be fair, I thought hiring Shoop was a pretty elite move. It didn't turn out that way, but in hindsight maybe it actually should have, given that Shoop found his groove again after getting out from under Jones.

Yeah I don’t buy that Freeze wants to go to Auburn. Auburn is a divided dumpster fire right now. Malzahn won’t be there after next year.

Take out the best bud equation. Freeze comes in and they flourish, if they really don't like Gus, do they promote Freeze to HC and would he take it?

I really do think weve offered it Freeze. Hes not gonna take it of Bammer is opening up soon too. I think we hire Lindsey and AU and Bammer are fighting over Freeze next week. All JMO

Freeze has a daughter attending Auburn I believe, so u can never underestimate the pull of family, but personally i would think that would put undue pressure on a daughter or a son so....

I must have missed that, but he wants back into college football,he has campaigned for this job through back channels and by him doing so,I wouldn’t have thought it would mattered if it was an OC job or even a assistant job like saban tried to do as long as he was coaching again.

That's a weird way to get a job. Most of the fans are going to want a clean sweep if Malzahn goes, unless your unit does a great job while the ship is burning. But again, that's Malzahn's unit.
